Description
I have a five bedroom townhouse in central Glastonbury. It is easy to walk to both the town and the Tor. My 21 year old son will be returning from Taiwan in September to finish his final year at uni in Exeter. He will mainly only be here for the holidays and the odd weekend.. I have a small cute Spitz dog called Ambe, so if you don’t like dogs it won’t work. If you love hanging out with cute dogs and have time in your life for that, it’s a bonus.
This room is in the middle floor of my house.. It has two sash windows, a kingsize bed, a walk in wardrobe and a wood burner. It is overlooked by a cedar tree. I currently have a tenant in there who is moving out on the 15th September.. so I would like to fill the room shortly after that.
There is a bathroom, with bathtub and a shower above on the top floor and a downstairs toilet. The living room/ dining room/ kitchen are open plan. There is a small town garden which I would currently describe as having potential!. It's a sweet place to sit in the summer. You are welcome to share all communal spaces.
At the moment I prefer tenants who want to stay at least six months because I will be travelling in the next few months and I would rather not make changes whilst I am doing that.. I would like to live with people who are tolerant, kind, honest, have good boundaries and a sense of humour, have enough money to pay the rent and the bills, know how to do their fair share of keeping the house in reasonable order and not leaving loads of stuff around. I would like people who are willing to accommodate other people's needs without compromising their own. I think it’s important to be able to talk honestly and calmly and kindly about anything that arises in the household so everyone can relax and be themselves. I don't want a party house vibe, just so you know! I prefer people who are working or doing other activities out of the house for some of the time.
I am happy in my own company and don’t expect you to adhere to any particular house hold rhythm or specific lifestyle because I don’t particularly have one! I am not vegan or vegetarian.
I don't mind if you smoke outside but definitely no tobacco in the house.
Please note * There will be an extra contribution for bills. It will be 1/4 of the utilities ( gas/ electric/ water) additional to the room rent. I have included the £50 contribution to the council tax (which is a quarter of it) in the room rent.
I also have another smaller room on the middle floor next to this one that I rent out
I look forward to meeting you and talking further, Amanda X
** NB : It’s not the same pink curtains anymore ..I have to have a look at the curtain situation when my current tenant moved out X
