Description

Hi! I'm Niky, 36, female (she/her) and I'd love to find a lovely housemate to join me in this beautiful home in the countryside in Pill as my friend is moving out to live with her partner. Please read the whole ad :):

Rent: £650 (excl. bills)
Bills:
Council tax (Band D), electricity, internet (£163.94)
Water: Free
Heating & Hot Water: House uses an oil tank but if it's any consolation, even with the oil prices increasing it's still pretty affordable. I'd say budget around £50 - £90 a month in the winter for a three-month top-up.

The house:
The house is lovely and spacious and is two floors. It came unfurnished and myself and my friend put in all the furniture so it's now a proper lovely home. Kitchen includes a big fridge freezer, cupboards, washing machine, dryer (although it's nice to be green so when possible, we can hang clothes outside as we have a whole area for that!), microwave, oven etc.
Dining room has a dining table and chairs, as well as a desk and a chair.
There's a big bathroom upstairs with a shower and bath, and a small toilet downstairs.
Living has a lovely sofa set we bought, my big TV, lots of plants (big plant lover!).

Your bedroom(s):
You would get a double bedroom PLUS you can the second bedroom (it's a three-bed place) for storage/an office/an art room/meditation room - whatever you'd like! I only use it for about an hour a day, max, to do a workout (either morning or evening - whatever would work with you) so it would be mostly your space to decorate and use how you'd like :). They'll be unfurnished unless you'd like to buy my housemate's small (pretty good) double bed off her.

What I'm looking for in a housemate:
The most important thing to me is that I find someone who is kind and compassionate, with whom I can along with - I'm very much done with mere 'houseshare' dynamics; this is a home <3 - and who is clean, tidy and considerate. I'm an ADHD & PMDD girlie so home needs to feel safe, predictable and secure. For example, I wouldn't invite a friend or people over without checking with you first, I'll always ask you to tell me if my music is loud or if you're OK if something I'm doing might disturb you. Inversely, I would expect that back.
Although I'm not the best at going to bed too early, I still like evenings to be calm, peaceful and quiet. So when I go upstairs to sleep between 22.00 - 23.30, it would be lovely if things could be quiet in the living room below me.

I work from home quite a bit and I'd use the dining room table or sit on the sofa in the living room. It would be cool to live with someone who does at least a hybrid-type work situation - although hopefully we'll get on well enough that sometimes we could do some body doubling :).

About me:
I work for a mental health charity for young people running groups around stress, low mood, anxiety, confidence and body image, as well as some youth spaces. I love music, deeply(!), including rock, grunge, metal, nu-metal, hip-hop, pop, indie, euphoric trance, electronica, folk, trip-hop, ambient - it's a real mixed bag :D. I enjoy singing, going to gigs, comedy shows, reading crime and fantasy fiction, horror movies, roadtrips, hiking, travelling, spending time with animals.

I go to Bulgaria a couple times a year for at least two weeks at a time, as well as pet-sit for some folks overnight so there'll be various occassions you'll have the house to yourself for periods of time. I'm also a part-time Holistic Massage Therapist and I rent a space once a week just down the road from us :).

The area:
One of my absolute favourite things about living here is the settings. We are immediately in nature as you step outside our house. We have lovely neighbours (younger than me) who are super friendly and we sometimes have a BBQ or a fire outside ours, or go to to the pub together.

We are right at the end of a cycle path so if you like cycling or going for walks along the river, this is perfect for you. We are also right next to a small and beautiful fishing lake, which is stunning.
The shops are about 20 minutes away on foot or a five-minute drive. Pill is a village but has everything you'd need - a Co-Op, pharmacy, GP (super happy with their service btw), a post office, St Peter's Hospice Charity shop, three pubs (one of which has pretty decent Caribbean food), Indian and Kebab takeaway etc. Nearest town is Portishead - and that's where I go to Aldi to do my food shop. There X4 bus (15 mins on foot from us to the bus stop) takes you to town. Driving to the center is about 15-20 minutes.

If all this resonates, hit me up with a bit about yourself :). I'll start arranging viewings in the next couple of weeks.
