Furnished Double Room - Cardiff North/Rhiwbina

Hi! We’re Matt and Sophie, a married couple in our 30s who rent out the spare room in our house on a short-term basis. We know that renting can be pretty rough, especially for people who are moving into the country/city and aren’t able to view places, or who only need a room for a short period of time. So, as well as making a little extra money and meeting some new people, we want to help people who might otherwise have a hard time finding somewhere decent to live.

We’re looking for someone who wants to rent a room for a maximum of 5 months. The price includes all bills and WiFi and a biweekly cleaner.

Our house is in a quiet cul-de-sac in Rhiwbina (CF14). It is a semi-detached 4 bed house with a private back garden and off-road parking. There are two bathrooms, and one loo (under the stairs). You would also be sharing with our two cats.

We both enjoy hanging out and getting to know people, but also need our own space every now and then! We’re normally up for sharing some food, having a drink or watching something so don’t feel like you’d need to stay confined to your room. Please note that Sophie works from home, and Matt works from home three days a week, so a lodger would need to be respectful of our space and time during working hours.

Concerning public transport, we are walking distance to the following stations:
• 3 mins walk to Birchgrove train station
• 3 minutes walk to Birchgrove Station bus stop
We are 10 minutes from Cardiff City Centre by train and 20 mins by bus. University Hospital Wales is 10 minutes on the bus or about 20 minutes walk.
Rhiwbina was a hamlet for many years and still behaves like a village, rather than a suburb. This means many local amenities are within walking distance. The high street at the crossroads of Heol-Y-Deri and Beulah Road has:

We also have a Morrisons (5 minutes walk) and a Lidl (9 minutes walk).
