Description
Looking for a young professional housemate to rent a room in a two bedroom flat in Riverside starting in the first week of October. The current housemate has saved up enough for a deposit on their own house so is moving out. The property is a 2 minute walk to Cardiff Central train station.
Rent is £480/month + bills (approx £200).
Bills are: £168 council tax, £150 gas and electric (12 month average), £45 water, £49 internet. I would like to get a water meter installed and a cheaper internet package, so bills will hopefully go down.
The landlord would like a reference, a credit check, a signed rental agreement with a guarantor signature, and a deposit of £400. Council tax band C.
About the flat: this is a ground floor flat in a two-storey detached house. The upstairs flat is occupied by 2 girls (both 27) that I am friends with and they are down here fairly often. They both work in TV production.
I am investing a lot in new furniture and equipment for the flat and so I am looking for someone who will take care of it all :) - almost everything in the photos is being replaced. There will be a new sofa, tv, table/chairs, air fryer, microwave, kettle, hoover etc.
The landlord is installing a new boiler as well as new carpets throughout the flat – hopefully this will get done between tenants while the flat is empty.
The room for rent is unfurnished, but the old tenant will sell his ottoman bed frame (£120), shelves and wardrobe if you would like it. The room will also need new curtains.
Parking on the street is free from 6pm to 8am but resident parking permits are available to us - I think that they are around £40 for the year.
There is a small outdoor area with room to hang up washing as well as for a table and chairs. There is also a friendly local cat who says hello most days.
The landlord is the parent of one of the girls in the flat above and is very helpful and responsive. He is happy for decorating and shelves etc. to be put up as long as they are made good when leaving.
About me: I (M31) am a structural engineer who enjoys mountain biking, football, surfing, cooking and TV/games. I drink from time to time and don't smoke.
It's an old house but I am looking for someone who likes to keep the flat as clean and tidy as an old house can be :)
Flat viewings are more than welcome and we would like to meet up with the person first to get to know you a bit. Please tell me a little bit about yourself if you are interested in moving in.
