Small double room in queer household, Cardiff

Double room available in queer neurodivergent household in Adamsdown from the end of August / beginning of September until the end of next March (with option to extend tenancy). £450 pcm + roughly £160 bills (to be discussed so those with lower/higher income cover less/more in an equitable way).

We’re looking for someone to join our house in Adamsdown near the Royal Oak. The three-bed house has a nice-sized back garden (with nice chairs, table and a parasol), a shared living/dining room, kitchen with dishwasher, laundry room, and an adorable cat named Giblet.

The room is upstairs at the back of the house. It’s a bit smaller than the other two and rent is a little lower as a result. There’s space for your desk in the living room if you want and a large chest of drawers you can use on the upstairs landing for extra storage. There is a small damp patch that we’re currently sorting with the letting agency.

The house has two bathrooms, one with a power shower upstairs and one with a large bath and additional shower downstairs.

We are a really friendly house that get on well but give each other space too. We usually take turns making dinner on a weekly schedule. These are simple dinners and just mean none of us need to cook every day! We try to eat together when we’re all home, and leave a portion for anyone who’s not home. Food and other essentials we share use of are something else we try to share the cost of fairly. There are a number of large stores nearby which are great for that (Aldi, a big Iceland, Lidl), and the local food co-op Splo-Down too!

The current housemates, me (Kieran) and C, are both in our early 30s and working. We tend to spend some time at home together and some time off doing our own thing. We’d love someone who is also queer/trans and neurodivergent. If you’d like to come by for a chat and to check out the room, let us know!
