Description
☆☆Please have a read of the description or skip to the summary at the end!
I have deliberately put in a lot of details to help you decide whether you'd be a good fit before you get in touch.☆☆
THE SEARCH
I am looking for calm, caring, and considerate people to share my home with me and my cats and very shy dog. I love my home and I've worked hard on it. I'm looking to share my home with the right people who will respect me, my pets and the house.
It's fundamental to have a quiet and peaceful, nourishing, and relaxed home environment so the right people would be willing to collaborate on this.
My cats are brilliant fun and very entertaining. My dog is quite sensitive to noise so will often bark when you come in at night and will bark at you and visiting friends, until he gets to know you, but it is worth putting in the time to build trust with him.
I'm a live-in landlady, so I'm on hand to help make this a happy and comfortable place to live or to fix things. I would prefer to find people who are totally vegan. I am also quite keen to run an environmentally friendly house to conserve energy and water and reduce waste and our impact on the planet, so the ideal person would be someone who also cares about the environment.
●UPSTAIRS DOUBLE ROOM
Fully furnished and comfortable with wardrobe, bookcase, chest of drawers, desk & chair. There is a double bed frame with plenty of storage underneath for crates and boxes and a good quality mattress with a lovely comfy mattress topper.
The room has a window facing the back garden, so it gets the evening light and is nice and quiet.
Room size approx 3.25m x 2.66m, so is a medium-sized room.
● DOWNSTAIRS DOUBLE ROOM
I have recently converted my lounge to a bedroom. It is fully furnished, newly redecorated, and a lovely space. There is a double bed frame with storage underneath for crates and boxes and a good quality mattress with a lovely comfy mattress topper. Also a wardrobe, chair, bookshelves and chest of drawers.
The room has a bay window facing the front of the house, a sanded wooden floor, a large fireplace with mantlepiece, and lovely high ceilings. It gets the morning sunshine.
Room size approx 4m x 3m, so is a medium-sized room.
LOVELY HOUSE AND PRETTY GARDEN – a quirky and charming 3 bed terraced house with many lovely original features - high ceilings, mosaic tiled floors, fireplaces. A comfortable, slightly bohemian and homely house with a nice little back garden. (I don't smoke in the house, but you're welcome to smoke in the garden). There's plenty of room downstairs with a shared reception room and kitchen.
BIKES/ PARKING
There's usually parking on the street outside or close by. I'm installing a storage box in the front garden to keep bikes in.
CONVENIENT LOCATION - Moorland Road, Splott - 5 minutes drive to town or the Bay - unrestricted parking - great friendly neighbours all around - 30 min walk to town - bus stops around the corner - 5 mins drive to the A48 to access the M4.
There are two parks very close by, and a nature reserve a couple of miles away.
Siop Sero on Albany Road is not far, if you want to buy things zero waste. There are takeaways, Nisa, Coop, and other shops nearby.
ABOUT ME - I’ve lived in Cardiff most of my adult life and Splott for about 15 years, and I really like the area and my neighbours.
I'm a support worker for adults with learning disabilities. I have lots of hobbies including gardening, cooking, music, gigs and festivals, gym, hiking, natural history, art, crochet, pottery, films and cinema, learning languages, trying new activities. I probably start more new hobbies than I'll ever get good at, but that's what I enjoy! Spirituality is key, as is being a kind and empathic person.
I'm a queer cis woman and my home is a safe space for LGBTQ+ people. I'm a feminist. I have ADHD so I'm sympathetic to people who are neuro divergent.
SUPPORTING YOURSELF/ WORK You'll need to be employed as DSS/ housing benefits will not cover the rent. The lodger agreement will not permit working from home. Ideally, you'd work in the daytime (not evening or night shifts) to minimise disruption to the household and other occupants.
If you are interested I'm happy to chat on the phone or do a video call/ tour of the house. Please let my know if you want some photos of the rooms or house.
