Description
Bright room in lovely Roath house – £564 all bills included
We’re looking for a new housemate to join our friendly, relaxed home in Roath from 1 October.
The room is small but bright and cosy, with a large east-facing window overlooking the garden — lovely warm morning light. It’s newly painted, has new carpet, and is unfurnished.
The house
It’s a lovely house that was fully renovated just before we moved in just over a year ago. Downstairs is open-plan and spacious, with a well-equipped kitchen (including a dishwasher and washing machine), plenty of storage, a pantry under the stairs, dining area and a comfy living room.
We’ve put lots of love into the garden this year, with flowers, trees and herbs growing. It’s become a lush space for communal dinners and BBQs in the summer, and we’d be very happy to have someone who enjoys gardening and wants to get involved :)). There’s also a secure bike shelter at the back.
The location
We’re on Angus Street, close to all the good bits of Roath — independent coffee shops, international food shops, pubs, restaurants, galleries and the shops around Albany Road and City Road.
The Angus Road bus stop is a 30 seconds walk, with buses every 10–15 minutes into the city centre. Roath Rec is a few minutes’ walk away and leads on towards to the lovely Roath Park😊
The household
We’re Kim (28, he/him) and Morwenna (28, she/her) — good friends who met at uni. We’re into cooking, photography, history, politics, art, salsa and carpentry, and we’re keen to get to know more people and be part of what’s happening locally.
We like our home to feel warm, communal and homely, while also being respectful of each other’s space. We often cook and eat together, but there’s no expectation to socialise all the time.
We don’t have a TV, which keeps things pretty peaceful, but we do have a projector and regularly have movie nights — Kim is big film enthusiast.
The house is generally calm during the week, with the odd dinner, BBQ or evening with friends. We’re also away some weekends.
We’re looking for someone who is postgrad or working, wants more than just a place to sleep, and would enjoy being part of a friendly home and building a bit of community together. Someone considerate, tidy and happy to contribute to the shared space would fit in well.
The practical stuff
Total: £564/month, all bills included
Rent: £446/month, paid on the 1st
Council tax: £68.20/month (band E)
Gas, electricity & 500 Mbps Wi-Fi: £49.33/month
Deposit: 1 month’s rent, paid to a deposit protection scheme

The landlord is very friendly and responsive, and lives locally.
If this sounds like your kind of home, drop us a message and tell us a little about yourself!
