Description
Hey!
Thanks for taking a look at the room. We’re looking for a laid-back, friendly housemate to join our home here in Canton. If you're sociable, up for the odd glass of wine or movie night, and generally bring good vibes, we’d love to hear from you.
A few quick bits before you message:
No smokers
No couples – just trying to keep the balance
Best suited to someone not working from home full-time (ideally max 1 day a week)
Available from 1st August
Bonus points if you're fun and easy to get along with
The house & who you'd be living with
It's a three-bedroom place with two of us already here:
I'm Chris (42, male, homeowner)
Naomi (34, female) – we both work full-time
The vibe’s relaxed and friendly – we like to hang out occasionally (chat, drinks, film), but we also respect each other's space. If you're someone who wants to be part of a home, not just rent a room, we’re probably on the same page.
The area – great location in Canton
Just 1.4 miles from the city centre, with plenty of transport options
Shops, restaurants, and pubs are just around the corner on Cowbridge Road
Tesco Express is a 5-minute walk away and stays open late, even on Sundays
Lidl, Co-op, and Tesco Metro are all nearby too
The room
Front master bedroom – fully furnished
Comfy double bed with a 10” memory foam mattress
TV included
Desk, wardrobe, chest of drawers, and bedside table – plenty of storage
What’s included
All bills – heating runs mornings, evenings, and weekends
Full-fibre broadband
Council tax
Household essentials covered – toilet roll, cleaning supplies, tea, instant coffee, etc.
The house also has a modern kitchen with all the kit (air fryer, microwave oven, dishwasher, tumble dryer), two shared living spaces, and a bathroom with a powerful walk-in rain shower.
If you work from home full-time, this probably isn’t the right fit – I work from home too, and have learned that sharing with another full-time home-worker just doesn’t work out well for anyone long-term.
If you are accepted as a housemate you will be asked to read through a short document which covers my house rules. It's designed to help keep the house feeling like an adult space rather than a student one, but is hopefully nothing too draconian. Feel free to ask to see it when getting in touch if this concerns you!
If it sounds like your kind of place, drop me a message with a bit about yourself. Looking forward to hearing from you!
— Chris
