Furnished, double room available (7 days a week) in the quiet, safe and sought-after village of Llandow in the Vale of Glamorgan, just outside the historic market town of Cowbridge. The property is a semi-detached end of terrace stone built quirky 2-bed Victorian cottage with oil fired central heating, DG, rear garden with south-facing countryside views. On-street parking is available. The room includes a double bed, bedside table, lamp, desk and chair. The room is painted country cream with cream carpet, overlooking the rear garden which is partially laid to lawn. Use of the lounge and kitchen (shared spaces). Bathroom (shared) with a bath and a separate electric shower cubicle. Washing machine, fridge and separate freezer in a walk-in pantry, electric oven & hob, toaster, kettle, slow cooker, Krupps coffee machine. Broadband, Netflix, and Prime Video included. There is a small amount of storage for a bike in the greenhouse to the rear of the property.
Nearest towns are Cowbridge and Llantwit Major. All amenities on High Street in Cowbridge are approx 4 miles away. In Cowbridge there’s a weekly Farmers Market every Saturday, various bars, coffee shops, restaurants, pubs, Delicatessen, Ice-cream parlour, Waitrose, Filco, Tesco Express, Savers, independent boutiques & charity shops, Leisure Centre, GP surgery, Pharmacies, bus stops, library and hair & beauty salons. Close to the Heritage Coastline. 20/25 mins from Culverhouse Cross by car. There is a bus service from Llandow into Cowbridge and beyond. Nearest train stations are Llantwit Major & Bridgend. Bridgend is approximately 12 miles away. Access both east and west is via the A48.
I’m looking for a clean, tidy, quiet, trustworthy, respectful housemate who likes animals. If you're not an animal lover, this isn’t the house for you. I have 3 well-behaved, sensitive dogs. You will be responsible for cleaning your own room, buying your own food & toiletries, recycling your own rubbish, and be willing to take turns cleaning the shared/common areas. I work full-time Mon-Fri from home. I have a horse, so I spend my free time at the stables or walking the dogs. The room is available for an initial period of 3 months. For the right person, this may be extended.
Price is based on someone who works away from the house for 5 days out of 7. If you WFM, the price may increase to take account of the additional utilities’ usage (to be discussed and agreed).
Monthly Fee includes contribution towards Sky Broadband and other utilities. Council Tax Band E.
A "Lodger/Licence Agreement" will be put in place (purchased via this site [solicitor-approved]).
**1 month’s fee payable in advance plus £250 security deposit against any damages and/or defaults**
1 months’ notice is required upon termination from both parties (non-negotiable).
Would suit someone needing something temporary.
Would also suit a contractor working in the area Monday-Friday.
Minimum Stay of 1 month. Smoking is permitted in the kitchen and the garden (I am a smoker).
