Description

Hello! :)

This is an exciting opportunity, we've got two rooms becoming available in our Meeresbrook/Heeley houseshare!

Why? One of our housemates is moving into her very own place and the other one is looking for share with another bunch of awesome humans.

Room 1: The cosy room :) First floor, back garden-facing room with double bed, shelving and desk. 360GBP/month + bills.

Room 2: The spacious room! Ground floor, front garden facing & street with double bed, big co-working style desk, sofa and wardrobe/shelving for clothes. 395GBP/month + bills. .

Bills: Are split equally amongst all housemates. We've got some fixed bills that are always the same (internet, water, house insurance) and some flexible bills (gas, electricity) where we get an invoice based on our actual consumption that we split. Bills heavily depend on summer vs. winter.

About our neighbourhood: Quiet neighbourhood, friendly neighbours. Close to Meeresbrook Park overlooking Sheffield, Cat Lane Woods, local vegan stores, *very* cute cafes (Art Cafe, Mandala, Kopi&Chai), retail park (health centre, pharmacy, Aldi, etc.) and bus access to the Peak District and the city centre.

About our houseshare: We are a friendly, mature and sometimes busy house share. We all work and we all love to travel. Mixed folks in their 30s, caring, outdoorsy, queer and more on the hippie/open side of life than not. Mix of vegan and omnis. Peaceful night times. Clean and tidy - clean as you go and adherence to cleaning rote is expected.

Each room is suitable for one tenant but visitors, guests and friends are always welcome! And: COUPLES WELCOME if you rent BOTH rooms! We've already got one queer couple on the top floor, and they created a very cute office and bedroom situation for themselves up there :)

About the house: Big, spacious house: 5 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room w. open-plan kitchen, front and back garden, basement. NO pets, shoes or bikes in the house.

Who we are:

Kelly is a lovely queer goth person busy working for Sheffield disabled charity and making awesome headdresses. Isa is their partner who just moved in with us from Switzerland and keeps busy sewing their wedding outfits. Steve is a Londoner who moved to Sheffield a few years ago, he works as a bike mechanic and writes his own sci-fi novel. Skye is a psychologist and dancer who travels a lot, she owns this house but spends most of her time abroad.

Are you the one for us???

[ ] I am *generally* content, open-minded, easy-going and foster a positive outlook on life. (You still get to have all the other emotions too!)

[ ] I want to live in a house share and connect with my housemates.

[ ] I am respectful of other people’s opinions, lifestyles and boundaries.

[ ] I can communicate my own boundaries, wishes and needs.

[ ] I am naturally clean and tidy and will proactively do my cleaning shift.

[ ] I have a lifestyle that allows me to be mindful of peaceful night times between 10pm and 8am.

[ ] I am happy with at least a 6 months short-term contract but may rather look for something more long-term.

[ ] I am helpful and handy. I am happy to help by checking mail, forwarding bills, watering plants and making myself available for handy people coming in to do work, etc. and will not call the homeowner to switch a light bulb.

[ ] I pay rent and bills on time.

Next steps:

1. Get in touch and introduce yourself! What do you want to get from living with us? What do you want to give? What should we know about you (desires, needs, vulnerabilities)?

2. Read our full house agreements (we will send them to you via email) and prove that you read them by sending us the secret password hidden in them. (Clever, right?)

3. If you feel that we are on the same page - Arrange a video call with Skye. Skye is the home-owner and takes care of all the boring admin.

4. If we still feel like we are on the same page - Arrange a viewing with your potential new housemates Kelly, Isa and Steve.

5. Take some time to think and feel, let each other know what's happening.

6. Pay deposit to secure the room.

7. Start paying rent & bills when moving in.

Ps. If you’d have to pay to get in touch with us - you can find me on the book of faces - Skye von Nordheim
