Description
I'm looking for a lodger to move in the double room in my house to replace my old lodger who left Sheffield. The house is a Victorian terrace with a conservatory, small patio, and garden. There are technically three bedrooms, but I use the box room as an office/study. The kitchen and bathroom get good sun in the morning until the afternoon, and the double room and living room get good sun in the afternoon and evening. I have a cat, tomatoes and chillies in the conservatory, and more vegetables on the patio. I sleep in the attic room, which has a shower and toilet, so the bathroom in the photo would be mostly for your use. The double bedroom has a double bed, a sofa, drawers, a small desk, an under-stairs cupboard, and a few other bits of furniture. The street is very quiet, the neighbours are friendly, and the house feels very comfortable. There is free on-street parking and an under-patio shed shared with the neighbours that could hold a bicycle.
I've lived in Sheffield and this house for around 10 years. I am a psychology teacher at the University and I work three days a week. I cook most evenings, enjoy having people over for dinner or a cup of tea, and go to music and events quite regularly. I go bouldering a few times a week and use my bicycle to get around as I don't have a car.
I'm looking for someone who is friendly, tidy and keeps largely normal hours (i. e. not making loud noise after 11pm). I am very happy for you to have friends over for dinner or to stay on a weekend (and the living room has a sofa bed). I would be very happy with someone who would like to share cooking or other social activities together, but happy also if we have different hours and different tastes in food. Ideally someone who likes cats and would be able to feed and hang out with the cat if I go away at the weekend.
