Hello! I am Zee, a data professional working from home. I'll be honest, my preference is to live alone. I have lived in this flat on the edge of Kelham on my own for 3 years now and I have loved that time. I am an introvert at heart and there is nothing I love more than curling up with a book, or being in the zone doing yoga in peaceful solitude. However, I need to save money for traveling, and the rent has just gone up, so I am looking for someone to move in. I want to be clear upfront that this would initially be an informal sublet situation until we know each other better.
Please don't let my introversion scare you off! I am not shy, or anti social; I enjoy meeting new people, socialising and spending time with others. I simply don't get energised by doing it, and I find my default mode is to spend time with myself. Therefore, if you are looking for a friend to live communally with, regularly share dinners with, watch films, and go on outings with, I am probably not the flatmate for you. If you are looking for a friendly, respectful and peaceful person to share space with, and the occasional natter, here I am! (think dog Vs cat vibes)
Okay, with that out of the way, about the flat!
The flat is very near Kelham Island. It's over 2 floors with an annexe room (your room!). The building has high ceilings which means it's very light and airy, but also that when it's hot, it's HOT, and when it's cold, it's COOOOOLLLLDD. Your room has a double bed, and is a good size with a new carpet. There is a sit stand desk that you are welcome to use, or I can take it out. The room has large windows for letting in light and you can see trees in the view from it.
The rent will be £555pcm "all inclusive"
This is broken down as follows:
Rent £425
Internet £15
Council Tax £50
Water £15
Energy £50 (estimated, based on average bill across the year. You will pay half of the bill each month which will vary and I will send you a copy of it.)
So £505pcm is the base cost, and the energy bill will be paid on top typically bringing the monthly all inclusive cost to £555.
On the ground floor, you enter the communal hallway and there is my neighbour's flat to the left. Up the stairs, you come to the first floor of my flat. On entering, there is a hallway, and there is a fully furnished living room coming off this that's an okay size for 2 people. I have netflix and prime and a PS5 you are welcome to use. The kitchen is a very small separate room off the living room, with an under counter fridge, and there is a separate small freezer in the living room. It is workable for sharing but I won't pretend it's ideal!
The bathroom and my room also come off the initial first floor hallway. The bathroom has a shower and a bath, and is a good size.
Off this hallway there is a door, behind which are the stairs up to your room.
I would prefer to share with a woman but men will be considered. Regardless, we will meet for a coffee to get to know each other and discuss the potential move, and after that I may offer you to view the flat if we seem like a good fit.
