Description

I’m looking for a friendly, respectful flatmate to rent a furnished double room and live with me in my lovely, quiet flat in Broomhall, Sheffield. The flat is located inside the ring road and just a couple of minutes’ walk from the University of Sheffield. The Moor, West Street and the city centre are all close by, with a bus stop and tram stop just two minutes up the road.

The room is fully furnished and includes:
- Double bed and mattress
- Desk with drawer, desk chair and lamp (which has USB & 3-pin plugs built in)
- Bookcase
- Large 100cm wardrobe with drawers, rail, and top storage
- Window with curtains (blackout blinds being installed soon)
- Infrared heater panel and remote

The flat is also furnished and includes:
- Shared bathroom with bath, shower, toilet and sink
- Large shared living room with two sofas, TV, dining table and Juliet balcony
- Fully equipped kitchen with oven, air fryer, fridge/freezer, additional countertop freezer, countertop dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer and plenty of storage
- Lots of kitchenware (plates, glasses, cutlery, etc.) which I am happy to share
- Allocated parking bay which I don’t use as I don’t have a car.

The area itself is quiet and residential, with very little traffic, but still right near the city.

Rent & Details
- £500 per month, including all bills (rent, water, electricity, broadband, council tax, etc.)
- Council Tax Band A
- £200 deposit
- Available from 9th January 2026
- Ideally looking for someone staying at least 5 months (January to June) or longer
- Non-smoker preferred
- No pets, as I already have a cat (small pets kept in the room may be considered)

About Me
I’m a live-in landlord and the only person currently living in the flat. I’m a twenty-three year old, single gay man, recently graduated in psychology, and I work at the Students’ Union in two roles; one of which involves managing a club. Because of this, my schedule can vary a lot and I often get home late (sometimes around 4am).

I’m friendly, chilled and social, but I also really value my alone time. When I’m home I’m usually relaxing, gaming, watching TV, scrolling TikTok or occasionally having friends over. I work from home sometimes but am often out at work.

My interests include playing video games on my PS5 or Switch, watching TV & films and doing fun things out of the house (pottery painting, going out to eat, hiker, vintage/charity shopping, etc). I love the genres of horror, sci-fi, post-apocalypse and animation so my favourite franchises include Alien, Star Wars, The Last of Us, Horizon Zero Dawn/Forbidden West, Hunger Games, etc. I also love playing multi-player games such as Dead by Daylight.

I also have a cat called Sage. She’s very sweet, energetic, extremely well-tempered, and loves people. You’d need to be happy living with a cat.

The Home Vibe
I like the flat to be clean and tidy, but not intense or overbearing. I’m not a clean freak and don’t expect perfection; a glass in the sink for a day or two is absolutely fine, as long as things don’t get excessive or unhygienic. I do regular light cleaning and occasional deeper cleans; and I’d expect my flatmate to stay on top of their own mess and help out fairly with the cleaning (e. g. bins, bathroom now and then).

Good communication is really important to me. I want us to be able to talk things through calmly and respectfully and give each other grace during busy weeks.

Ideal Flatmate
I’m ideally looking for:
- A young working professional or student in the later years of study (around 20 to 25)
- Friendly, respectful and communicative
- Generally clean and tidy in shared spaces
- Comfortable with late nights/night-owl energy
- Happy to live with a cat
- Not a clean freak, but also not messy or disrespectful

I’d love to be friendly and potentially hang out (watching TV, gaming, going to the pub or out around the city) but I’m also totally fine if you prefer your own space and independence.

Friends and partners are welcome over, and the occasional party is fine with a heads-up and respect for neighbours and the shared space.

If you’re kind, reasonable, chilled and looking for a comfortable, sociable home near the city, this would likely be a great fit.

Drop me a message telling me a bit about yourself if you’re interested 🙂
