Description
Bright and cosy double room available in sociable houseshare
I am moving to pursue a new career and will be sadly leaving this amazing houseshare after just over a year here.
The room is available to move into from early February (exact date can be arranged) and you would be living in a 5-room houseshare near Endcliffe Park with 4 other housemates aged 24-27 - currently 2 female / 2 male - all lovely and great people, pictured in my profile picture.
The house has always maintained an open and sociable vibe even as housemates come and go. We regularly chill in the lounge in the evenings. We go out to the pub (though two of us don’t drink alcohol), play board games, play padel or tennis, and buy each other bday gifts. The current group has been together nearly a year. We all have different careers (Teaching, Engineering, Hospitality, Union/Community organising) and a range of interests (climbing, theatre, walks, football, live music, cooking, gardening, brainrot, reading), which has made for a really fun mix of people and personalities. Also, we share spices, oil, tea, washing up liquid, loo roll; the basics like that. We all have our moments, but generally keep things very clean and tidy.
The room has the largest windows of any upstairs room in the house as well as a big radiator to always keep you at just the right temperature. The windows have removable privacy sheets on the inside and the long windowsill is really useful to for decor or coffee mugs! It’s a deceptively spacious room and great for personalisation to make it your home.
The room comes with a double bed, desk, wheely chair, large wardrobe with 3 large drawers, shelf unit and a surprising amount of storage space. There are two bathrooms (one with shower and loo, other just loo), fully furnished kitchen and lounge, a basement for storage and a garden. Fun side note, the garden randomly grew loads of wild strawberries this year - I made a horrible jam.
The house has plenty of bus stops (buses to the centre run every 15 minutes approx). Nearby, it's a 1 minute walk to Endcliffe park and 5 minutes to Bingham park so it doesn't take long to be surrounded by nature - whilst having a surplus of choice with Sharrow Vale's pubs and eateries only down the road.
Rent and bills breakdown:
Rent - £280pppm (£1,400pm total between 5 tenants - due on 16th of each month; standing order )
Bills - £100pppm (approx as we are on a set rate with british gas that might marginally change. We organise via a direct debit to one housemate. This includes council tax)
Cleaners - £14pppm (fortnightly standing order from 1 tenant to cleaners and other tenants repay. The cleaners come once a fortnight, clean communal areas only, and do a fantastic job)
Approximate overall cost of the room:
£400 per month per person.
Our house recently changed letting agencies. They are responsive and not over-bearing, and obviously the rent is really low for such a nice area!
Move in date can be anytime within first couple of weeks of Feb, open to negotiate there.
Any questions let me know :)
Ross
