Description
Heya!
We are Emily and Elsa and we're looking for a lovely new housemate to move in with us. The tenancy began on the 17/08/2025 and our current 3rd housemate is moving to be closer to work. This current tenancy runs until 17/08/26, and would renew and is now a rolling contract.
The house is in Broomhill, right near the Nottingham House pub up a nice leafy street.
The house consists of:
-a nice sized, furnished living room and kitchen on the ground floor with a hall way area in between and a downstairs toilet and sink.
-2 large double rooms (one is mine and one will be yours!) on the first floor with a shower and toilet room in the middle
-A smaller double room (this is Elsa's) on the second floor with a toilet and sink and a separate room with a bath
- a front garden with one parking space (I currently have a car but we can talk about sharing the space/a permit if you need!)
-a back garden and courtyard, accessible from the kitchen, with a back gate leading down a path to the main road.
The house is in a prime location, in the middle of Broomhill with great access to the city centre- the ring road is a 15 minute walk from the house and we have a bus stops less than 2 minutes from the house for the 51, 52, 52a and 120 buses into town.
There are 6 pubs, 3 supermarkets and 6 charity shops within a 5 minute walk from the house.
The room itself is above the living room with a large window facing the front garden. It's the largest of the 3 and unfurnished, but there are lots of good furniture charity shops nearby, to get some good pieces on the cheaper side, if you dont have much of your own furniture. There is also possibly a double bed frame and mattress being left by a previous tenant that you can use if needed.
In the contract, it is listed as the tenants responsibility to tend the gardens. We do have some planted and potted plants etc. to try make the spaces pretty. We'd be more than happy to have any help maintaining/adding to them if a new housemate was interested.
The rent is £1330.00 pcm, which will be split 3 ways, so £443.33 each. Bills are not included. They're split between rent, monthly council tax band C and wifi sorted by Elsa and electric, gas and water sorted by me. They equate to an average of £130 per month.
With the council tax, we would be needing our new housemate to contribute to it as we're both working adults. Elsa works part time in a contact centre, 4 days a week, 2 days in the office and 2 wfh with flexible hours. I work full time 9-5, a mix of home and office.
I enjoy playing and watching football, walking & being outdoors, yoga, reading, and cooking. I’m up for doing things as a house like going out for food and drink or for a walk. Elsa would say she's both introverted and extroverted, loves both to be social and would be up for going to pub quizzes, cinema, concerts/theatre shows, pubs/eating out but also enjoys her disassociating alone time 😅.
We'd both be very much down to have quiet nights in together in front of the telly etc. or have space to do our own separate thing.
We do like things to be clean and tidy, kept in their place and try to tidy as we go to make sure the communal parts of the house are kept nice and clean for each other. We would really want and expect a new housemate to also tidy as they go and keep areas clean for everyone else. Taking turns with chores etc.
If you have any questions or are interested, please message and ask!
