I am a friendly relaxed animal lover, and now with children grown and flown, seeking a lodger. I have a charming room on the top floor of a three storey house available. The price includes ALL BILLS, COUNCIL TAX and BROADBAND!
The room:
The room is a generous size with a double bed, chest of drawers, hanging and storage space, and desk and desk chair included.
The house:
The house is one of a short line of terraced houses on a quiet cobbled street, looking out over neighbours’ gardens on the street side and with a lovely small garden at the back. The characterful local area includes a great local pub.
The living room has a bay window with sunny aspect and an open fire. A cellar stores the firewood – it also makes a good wine cellar! The house has high ceilings, floors are original timber or carpeted. There is a lovely garden with furniture and a BBQ.
The kitchen features timber surfaces and floor, arranged to be social and welcoming. Adjacent is a utility room with washing machine and fridge-freezer. Combi boiler powered central heating throughout. The modern bathroom has a brilliant powerful shower.
About the housemate:
I am a professional landscape architect in my early sixties, often working away in London during the week, though also flexible Covid era home working.
The cat: Monkey, friendly and loves to sit in laps.
I need my lodger to like her and enjoy giving her some attention! Also feed her when I'm away though please know that I have backup plans for occasional feeding, so hopefully this isn't a burden.
The local area has plenty to offer, shops, restaurants, pubs and local parks. The University of Sheffield, City Centre and Kelham Island are quick to reach. Transport links are good with buses and trams all a 5 minute walk away. Even walking to the city centre is only 20 minutes.
There is on-street parking here.
Other stuff you should know: The house is a smoke free zone. Cleaning and tidying are to be shared proportionately.
