A cottage with lovely rural views

A double room suitable for a single person which can accommodate an additional visitor for occasional overnights only with a double bed and good storage and reliable wifi. Close to Falkirk, Bathgate ( 15 mins) and Grangemouth (20 mins).
Size 5.1 x 3.6 metres plus en suite and storage cupboards.
My cottage is a blend of old style and modern interior and a large sheltered and private patio and garden to the rear. I have a very ample drive with off road parking and although in a semi rural setting our small local shop is a 5 minute walk away and we do have a bus stop close to the end of the driveway. I would recommend that you have your own car, however, since we are 6 miles from Falkirk and 3. 5 miles from the nearest train station and public transport is limited if you require a regular commute.

I am Jenny and I live here currently with one lodger called David who has lived here for a number of years. I worked in healthcare and latterly as a Life Coach. I have a lovely dog called Dougal who is a lab collie cross. He is mostly, very obedient and loving and friendly but does bark at the postman and visitors until he identifies them as friendly. I have two cats. One called Poppy and the other Thunder who appear to be pretty hypoallergenic since I usually sneeze with all other cats. I also have 4 pet sheep and two guinea pigs.
We are very easy going and sociable but the house is large enough for everyone to have all the privacy they wish for when they want it. The available room is ground floor with a patio door which can be used for direct access.
There is an en suite with shower, toilet and sink for your private use and a further downstairs toilet available for communal use.
There is one other lodger upstairs with their own en-suite. who has lived here for over nine plus years now.
I have had lodgers now for over 9 years with a wide range of interesting people coming to live here sometimes for months, sometimes years. I have enjoyed sharing my home.


I have a large kitchen and you will have fridge, freezer and cupboard space for your food and access to the use of all amenities, gas cooker, washing machine, dish washer, etc all we ask is that you tidy up after yourself, as we do and hope you will quickly feel at home here.

An easy going atmosphere with mutual respect for people's need for privacy when they want to retreat to their own room has worked well for us all here. The kitchen is usually the social space. There is a sunroom as well as a lounge. I babysit for my granddaughters at times but no more than once per week but the house is large enough that peace can always be found.
