Hello. We've got a double room and a single room/study available in our house. We are spending some time away from Aldeburgh but would like to keep our bedroom for occasional visits (once every couple of months), so we're live-in landlords but you won't see much of us.
We'd prefer someone who is a professional and generally clean and tidy. If you're creative or an artist, even better!
We are both architects who enjoy traveling and cultural activities.
The house
Stylish house in peaceful 70s estate, 5 min walk from Aldeburgh beach, 10 min walk to the High Street and the fish & chips shop. 10 min walk to the Red House and golf course.
Pub and supermarkets are also 5 min walk away.
15 min drive to Sizewell B power station.
Your 1st floor south facing room has a king size bed, storage space, a heater and is decorated with original artwork.
There's also a spare room with a single bed which you can use as an office or a spare room for guests.
The space
Modern furniture and art in a 70s building. The kitchen, living and dining areas are on ground floor. There's also a small WC. The back garden can be accessed from the dining area.
Upstairs we have the bedrooms and the family bathroom.
We have a deck and gravel garden at the back of the house for afternoon al fresco drinks, and hanging laundry up.
Free on-street parking available (however not allocated) + bike shed.
The council tax band is B.
Bills: you will pay rent + council tax (£160 per 10 months, which you can reduce by 25% with the single occupier discount) + electricity, internet and water. Bills on average amount to £100/month, depending on your usage. For us they're quite low even in the winter.
We don't have gas. The heating is electric. We had solar panels fitted in February, so haven't seen their performance in the coolest months, but at the moment we're not using any grid electricity.
Cats are allowed.
