Description
AVAILABLE MAY 14th 2026
King size room to let in a cosy, quirky home in the countryside market town of Eye.
Part Georgian, part Tudor terraced house with a pretty walled garden. On a quiet lane, called the Rookery. It’s the type of house you feel like you want to write a book in.
It’s 3 bedrooms.
Your room would be a king-sized sleepy room with a beautiful black decorative fireplace. Or I have a smaller double room I’d consider letting for less. Please get in touch for details.
We will have another housemate also staying with us in her double bedroom, who is lovely. Beth, 33, who works from home and likes bodyboarding, sub aqua diving, conservation, crafting and cooking. I’ll be in the third room while you are here. I also work from home but travel quite a bit.
I’m 47 BTW but young at heart. I lived in London for a long time so I’m used to house sharing and I like the sense of community. I work remotely, as an immersive producer, from home ATM but I am also away a lot. I'm writing my first fantasy book, studying to be a life coach and I love yoga and sailing.
The house is big enough that we won’t get in each others’ way if we are all there. That being said it’s small enough that I’m looking for someone who we get on with and wants to spend some together when we are at home.
Our spaces to share include: a living room with a small log burner, a small library snug (when I’m not working in it), an open plan kitchen diner, 1 big shared bathroom (with a shower and bath) and a cellar utility room with a freezer and tumble dryer. The house is obviously heated and is a warm house in all ways.
I also have a garden with outdoor seating and generally lots of flowering pots. I’m also working on turning a shed in the garden into a craft shed and another into a small bar. There is space for one more bike in the bike shed.
I am looking for someone who wants to participate and be sociable in the house. You could be planning to stay a few months or up to a year. I’m not sure what I’ll be doing at that point so can’t commit past that point.
I’m happy to consider short term lets. We’ve had three short term people staying with us previously and it’s worked out really well. We enjoy the change and the influx of new conversation.
We generally take it in turns cooking and eat together in the evenings if you are around and keen.
Fully furnished.
Bills included.
No pets.
I have everything (like kitchen stuff etc) if you want to use mine that’s probably easier. / preferable.
Eye is a lovely place to live I can’t say enough good things about it. It’s like being on holiday all of the time somehow. It’s the type of place where everyone says hello to each other on the street. I have lovely neighbours. There is a bakers, butchers, chocolate shop, pub, two late night co-ops and the cutest deli in the world all 5 mins walk away. There is also a charity shop, a cocktail bar, an arts centre, an antiques shop which rehomes old clocks back where they were originally made in East Anglia. Oh! And our own ruined castle, which you can often have to yourself and watch the sunset. Eye is that kind of middle of nowhere place which has everything you need, and is actually the middle of everywhere as it’s closeish to the A140 and A143 and the mainline to London / Norwich, whilst still being in the countryside.
I can only put 9 photos up on this ad which is no where near enough. Your room would be the one with the black fireplace. Best thing is give me a call and I can tell you more. I’m not in a hurry to find someone, it’s more an ad to catch the right person at the right time. I’m looking for someone who adds to the place and will be happy here.
Look forward to speaking.
