Room ready and cleaned. If you are looking for a quiet place to live this might suit you. We are live in landlords and we are renting out the largest room in the house to one lodger. We have rented this room out now for over 10 years and many of our lodgers have stayed over 3 years.
When we first came to London we had to rent out rooms, so we wanted to create a space that we would have liked to have had. Over the 10 years we have sought to improve the room and its amenities. We have just replaced the mattress to the king size bed and installed fitted wardrobes to improve the storage. We are fairly open to improving things further.
We both work from home with our own individual work spaces, so there is good fibre optic broadband. The house was bought as a new property and therefore benefits from good insulation and lots of light.
The room is on the first floor and has an ensuite directly off it with shower, basin and WC. The main bathroom for the house on the second floor is also available to the lodger. There is a large kitchen / diner on the ground floor with most of the normal kitchen appliances. There is a living room that we have reserved for ourselves on the ground floor.
There is off street parking should that be required but the property has bus stops immediately opposite for buses to Morden & Wimbledon for onward links to the underground. In the opposite direction there are buses to Sutton and Epsom. There are numerous Overground stations nearby.
We are 57 and 63 and appreciate a quiet house. We go out, but our hard partying days of our 20’s and 30’s are largely behind us. We do have a cat and she is a major part of the household, so that needs to be respected.
