Description
Overview:
I am offering up this spacious and characterful 1 bedroom apartment with a separate living area and a large modern bathroom in a converted gothic church. The property comes with private, off-street allocated parking behind the building. A short 5/10 minute walk from Egham train station and the local supermarkets. Egham itself is just a 30-minute journey to Clapham Junction and 40 minutes to London Waterloo, providing great transport links. The whole flat has just been redecorated and painted throughout and that work was completed on 14/04/2018. I have also purchased a brand new top end Samsung washer/dryer and a brand new double oven. As you can see from the photographs, this charming property combines stunning period features (visible in every single room) with modern comforts.
Bedroom: 3.2m x 2.8m
Like the lounge, this room has as its focal point the beautifully restored gothic windows. I have just purchased very expensive, custom-made curtains for the window which are thermal lined to keep the bedroom cosy but also to block out any light.
Contains a brand new double bed with 4 large under bed drawers and a large wardrobe with two shelves at the top, short and full-length hanging space, 3 large drawers and 2 large flat drawers which I used for shoe storage.
Large Velux skylight with pull-down blackout blind in the vaulted ceiling which floods the room in natural light. Real oak flooring.
Bathroom: 3.5m x 1.7m
Modern bathroom with full-size bath and an enormous walk-in shower with two shower heads (one handheld and one rain shower). I had spotlights added to give the bathroom even more light. Brand new solid oak door and granite tiles on the walls and floor. This room also contains a towel rail and a deceptively large storage cupboard above the shower.
Living and dining area: 5.5m x 3.7m
My favourite space by far! The restored gothic windows and architecture are a real focal point in the property. When I lived here I had lots of fairy lights and electric candles everywhere which bathed the room in ambient lighting and made the medieval period features come to life at night. It is hard to capture the beauty of this place in photos, you need to see it to believe it! The open-plan living/dining/kitchen area is a really sociable space and the amount of counter space made cooking even more pleasurable. The whole flat is surprisingly warm; I only had the heating on in December and January which was made even cheaper by the fact that the flat has storage heaters (I purchased a brand new one for the lounge this winter).
Large Velux skylight in the vaulted ceiling which floods the room in natural light. Real oak flooring. I am currently arranging to have the ceiling lights in the lounge and dining area replaced so that they match which can be completed before you move in.
Kitchen: 2.7m x 2.4m
I had spotlights added to give the kitchen even more light. Brand new Samsung EcoBubble washer/dryer and brand new stoves double oven. The kitchen also contains an integrated full-size dishwasher and a fridge freezer.
The bottom line:
I absolutely love this flat! Unlike most landlords, I actually lived in this property (it was my first home) and can tell you all the tips you need to know about the property itself and the local area. This apartment is the only property I rent and I am self-employed which means that you will have my undivided attention should you have any questions or concerns. I care about this property and, having been a tenant for years dealing with dodgy landlords, I care about being a great landlord.
Ideal tenant:
- Respectful of the property
- Non-smoker
- No pets
- Good references/guarantor
