Description
Hi, friend!
My name is Katie and I'm looking for a friendly female or enby person to share my cosy, sunny flat from late February/Early March 2025.
My last flatmate stayed for 2 years and moved for a job opportunity, and she describes the place as 'friendly, comfy and homely' so I hope that's a good endorsement!
If you're interested, please take a read of the text below and, if you'd like to message, please let me know the following:
- What you like about the ad/what sort of home you're looking for.
- How long you are looking to stay.
- Whether you like cats! :)
Hope to hear from you soon!
About the flat:
This flat is a new build with two bedrooms, a shared bathroom and a lovely airy living-dining space that overlooks a park and has its own corner balcony.
It's south west facing and has large (almost floor to ceiling) windows, so we get oodles of sun. It's on the 4th floor and has clear uninterrupted views of green skylines.
The flat itself is in a secure block with fob and lift access throughout, and an underground car park and bike storage.
I have a washer-dryer and dishwasher and a large fridge-freezer, all of which are new and easy to use. I have unlimited WiFi and Amazon Prime/Netflix etc on the TV.
Location:
The train station is literally across the road (Hackbridge) and it's 27mins direct to all the main hubs of central London (Victoria, Clapham Junction, KX and London Bridge). There are also plenty of buses and Morden tube isn't too far if you get caught out late.
We have the river Wandle a 5min walk away, as well as at least 3 parks, 2 gyms, a library and coffee shops within 10mins. The local Sainsbury's is less than 5min walk away. We also have a brand new MASSIVE Lidl under the building, so you can pick up fresh baked goods or 'middle of Lidl' bargains 2 mins from the door.
There is street parking and also the option to rent car parking spaces in either the carpark under the building, or within 2 min walk of the flat. There's also parking in the Lidl for guests.
The room:
Room is furnished - it has a double ottoman storage bed (with a super comfy mattress) a wardrobe, shelving unit on the wall and curtains, but I am very happy for you to add pictures and more storage, we can talk about what you'd like :)
There is also an extra storage room for coats, boxes and suitcases and space on my big bookcase for a book collection!
About the location/community:
This is the friendliest place I have ever lived in London! Most of the people in this block are 25-40 and help each other out with anything from lending DIY equipment to sharing tips on the best takeaways.
We have had events like MacMillan Coffee morning, a trick or treat trail for the kids around Halloween and Advent Windows in December. That said, there is zero pressure to get involved if you'd just like somewhere quiet to be.
About me:
I work as a career coach and pet-sitter and in my free time love baking, walks, writing novels, nerdy shows and the occasional ill-advised craft project.
I'm working from home most days but my 'office' is also my bedroom so you will have the run of the place depending where you would like to work. Ideally, you would be someone who doesn't work from home full time, but this isn't a deal-breaker.
Your other housemate is my gorgeous Ragdoll cat, Ralph. He doesn't go in the bedrooms at night and I am in charge of his care, but he'll definitely want to play or cuddle with you! I also have a whole bunch of eclectic plants.
I am sometimes away for pet sits further afield, for up to 10 days. During that time, you'd need to be okay with feeding Ralph in the morning and evening (he has a timed feeder), but other than that he's quite low maintenance!
About you:
If you're someone looking for a safe, restful, peaceful home then you've come to the right place! This is a very inclusive home; any background, sexual orientation and/or religious affiliation is welcome.
Partners and friends welcome to stay over/visit!
This place would not be ideal for someone into late night parties and being loud at 2am. If movie nights and baking or just casual evenings reading and chatting with wine or tea sound like your thing, you'll love it here! I am also a huge nerd so bonus points if you know what D&D is, or know your ATLA from your She-Ra, but no pressure if not!
Hope this literal essay has piqued your interest! If so, drop me a message and let me know a bit about you :)
