I am an active, live-in landlord, a retired professional, divorced and I have a gentle, well trained dog. I offer a quality, family style home that is friendly, clean and well appointed and in a quiet residential area. I seek a single, professional person for long term tenancy ideally; a non smoker, quiet, clean and tidy and with a genuine fondness for animals. The room is a large, bright double room, first floor and overlooks a south facing garden. It is fully carpeted & has a double bed, plenty of storage and easy style seating. The communal areas in the house include a large, bright kitchen/dining room in farmhouse style with fully fitted kitchen including dishwasher, airfryer, nespresso machine, etc., the dining room has TV and occasional easy chairs; a separate utility room with washing machine, drying space and fridge/freezer; the main bathroom upstairs is shared with me only and has a large bath with overhead & handheld shower. There is a separate toilet and another wc to the ground floor. The large southerly garden is secluded with 2 patios, the rear below a glass verandah with seating & tables. Designated kitchen cupboards & fridge/freezer space are available for food stuff and there are plenty of cooking utensils, crockery, glasses, cutlery, etc. Parking is unrestricted in the road.
A selection of buses to Croydon & Purley are within 2-5 minutes walk as is a comprehensive shopping parade that includes Sainsbury's, restaurants, take aways and a library. Sanderstead Stn is about 20 minutes’ walk away. There are local walks through ancient woodland, open fields and several golf courses, gyms and sports clubs all nearby.
The room is available from the end of January.
The successful applicant would be a second lodger to one whom has been here 11 years & occupies the ground floor room with en suite.
All bedding is provided (all new) and laundered every 2 weeks, your towels every week and cleaners attend to the whole house monthly. It is your responsibility to keep the room clean & tidy and to share other light household chores. We respect each others privacy, lead separate lives but we value living more like family & share occasional curry nights.
I have 2 sons in their 30s who are married & living elsewhere with children of their own.
From time to time, I host large family gatherings & occasionally, one or two grandchildren may stay over. At these times I would not expect you to avoid us ! It is a family style home
