Description
Please note that this vacancy is for a Lodger, not a house share.
This room has become available again after a few months. Unfortunately the relationship didn't work out due to animosity between our cat and the dog we decided to allow! Prior to that our paying guest stayed for seven years - as have others - and only left to buy his own flat. The room is a small to medium sized double bedroom with a 4'6" double bed and is on the ground floor just inside the front door. There is a wardrobe, chest of drawers, long cupboard with moveable shelves, Sky+HD box with Sky Everything and BT Sports. En-suite comprises wet-room/shower area with washbasin and WC - originally designed for a disabled person with associated aids which can be removed if required. Large, well-equipped kitchen with dishwasher and you will have your own fridge, freezer and food storage cupboard. Washing machine and tumble-drier situated in separate ground floor utility/bathroom Use of sitting room and garden plus dining room if required. We are an amiable bunch and looking for someone similar. We don't live in eachothers' pockets though, and tend to mostly stick to our own rooms. We have a cat but also look after certain dogs from time to time so being an animal lover is mandatory - not just lip service and ignoring them. The house would also probably suit an older, more settled kind of person in terms of job with bonafide reason for moving home. Job and previous accommodation references necessary. A fortnightly cleaner is employed for general cleaning of communal areas and vacuuming of all floors. However, everyone is responsible for leaving communal toilets, and the washing-up area of the kitchen - sponges, cloths, scourers etc - clean for the next person, and to know how to wash-up properly. We usually wash up our own pots, pans etc as the dishwasher is only small. This is a very important issue, along with our strong commitment to recycling as required by the council. The property is in need of updating, hence rent on lower end of the spectrum. Travelling: the house is very convenient for buses 235, 216, 555 and 557, plus Upper Halliford and Sunbury mainline stations but trains run only every half an hour and the journey to Waterloo is 50mins. For drivers, the M3/A316 are right on hand. Shopping: A huge Tesco is just 5 minutes' drive away and we have a very well-stocked corner shop, and a takeaway chicken and chips within walking distance. Please message in the first instance. Thank you.
