Large Bright Bedroom in Shared Suburban Flat

Rent: Looking for a ONE MONTH SUBLET for £500 + bills. Bills are about £140 including council tax, gas, water, electricity and internet.

Description: A large bedroom in a two-bedroom flat, with a fairly large lounge and a cute little balcony. You’d be living with me, a 34-year-old cis white gay (queer and POC friendly) who works in the charity sector as well as in education/research, and who has lots of books, vinyl, wine and cocktails to share. The flat is in Wallington, which is nestled just inside the technical border of London, between Croydon and Sutton, but very near lots of countryside. Trains are 25 minutes to London Bridge or 40 minutes to Victoria, and you can get home any time of night by getting a bus from East Croydon or Morden. If you have a job in South London or are looking to be in London but not IN London then this is a great place - lots of open air, but fairly quick to the centre. I’m friendly, love a night in with board games or chilling with music and a book, and am happy to socialise or leave you to your own devices.

Tenancy: The landlord is my friend who occupied the large bedroom until lockdown. We are looking to find someone to sublet one of the two bedrooms for one month.

Benefits + references: Benefits are accepted. References will be needed, which we can discuss if you’re interested.

Deposit: I will take a £100 deposit since it's just for one month.

Access info: It’s on the third floor, with 42 stairs and a dependable lift (I haven't had any issues with it in the last three years). There are no steps within the flat. Entry to the block of flats is open (just a door that was never meant to lock), with a recently-installed triple-locking door to the flat itself, and another door to a small shared space with another flat. The area feels quite safe to me, and the door is certainly secure. There is also a car park where there is usually space.

Other information: As much as I love pets, sadly I’m allergic to both fur and smoke. There’s a big Sainsbury’s nearby and a few more things in Wallington or further afield, though like everyone I tend to get all my groceries online now.
