Room to rent in shared house at Achmelvich, 15 minutes walk from the beach, 3 miles from Lochinver, 1hr drive from Ullapool.
Traditional old cottage full of character with south facing aspect, tranquil garden, views of woodland, Suilven and Canisp, lots of wildlife and idyllic setting. Great base for exploring NW Scotland with some fantastic hills and beaches within an hour's drive.
Double room available. Would suit a couple (£600/month for 2 people sharing) or single occupancy (£400/month). Ideal if you're working in the area or looking to move here. Room available long-term (long-term lodger preferred) but also available for shorter stays if you just need somewhere for a month or so. Pets considered (prefer quiet pets that won't chase the wildlife).
House has kitchen, 2 bathrooms (1 with shower, 1 with bath), lounge, 2 bedrooms, office. Nice rustic, homely feel with exposed timber rafters. Heating is a combination of electric heaters and stoves (firewood not included in bills), house can be chilly as it's an old stone cottage. Full use of the house and shared rooms.
Limited parking, driveway/turning area not suitable for large vans.
Looking for responsible house mate. Ideal for someone interested in nature/outdoors/environment/veggie but not essential.
