Nature lover’s rural home

Looking for a like-minded lodger to share my home.

I’m a conservation/land manager working in the third sector on a hybrid basis, so each week I work from home part of the time and am away for the rest. I’m usually around at weekends and am active in the community. I love the outdoors and enjoy getting up munros in my spare time. I have two kids in their early twenties who visit from time to time. I also have a dog, so am willing to consider yours, if they get on ok. Rather not have cats due to their impact on wildlife and for safety due to proximity to the road.

The house is fully functional, but quite rustic. For me that’s part of its charm.
The room is on the ground floor, with views of the garden and firth. There’s a choice of sharing the main bathroom, or a ground floor shower room (not en suite). There’s a shared kitchen, living room and conservatory. The garden is about half an acre and blends into woodland on 3 sides. There are extensive walks straight from the garden to woodland, hills and freshwater loch.

Due to the rural location and lack of public transport, you’ll need your own transport. It’s about an hour to Inverness, but only 15 minutes to the nearest supermarkets. No phone signal in the house, but WiFi with good speed. Currently oil fired central heating with an open fire in the living room. Washing machine and tumble dryer in the garage.
