The house is a large terrace with nice victorian features and big communal areas. It is well maintained by a local landlord who has fitted a new bathroom, roof and boiler in 2022.
The property is on Sidney Grove; a vibrant street in Fenham that suits people wanting to live in an arty, multi-cultural, left wing place. The community here is wonderful and well organised through a street facebook page. In short, people look after each other here. The wider area is really up and coming with artisan bakery FAB, Nunsmoor coffee garden and a vast selection of world food shops and cheap grocery stores can be found on neighbouring Stanhope Street.
The existing housemates: Rob and Struan are two friendly, mature guys in their late 30s / early 40s: Rob is a conscious LGBTQ+ massage therapist running a professional practice in massage and meditation techniques. He is dependable, open minded and fun. Struan is a PhD student analysing the specific narratives of mural painting and is a great person to be around. Overall these guys are responsible, quiet and clean tenants who are looking for two people who are sociable and want to live in a tidy and mature house share.
The bedrooms come furnished to a comfortable standard. One of the rooms has just been renovated and redecorated including fitting the walls and ceiling with insulation meaning it will be snug and your bills will be kept to a minimum. The landlord manages the internet and water bills and these utilities are included in the rent. Tenants manage the energy and Council Tax bills separately (Council Tax Band A).
