Description
Hello!
I'm Kerri, and my partner and I Josh are a couple living in a three storey, very modern house with our very friendly dog Foxy in Walker.
We're looking for short term lodgers.
We have a single room available with built in wardrobes and a desk and chair. The room also has magnetic chalk board walls to help you make the room your own, as well as one wall which can be used as a whiteboard.
Available from 3rd March, £500 per month. The single bed does also convert into adult bunk beds, so if you wanted to share it as a couple or two friends etc, we can discuss that option and what the additional costs would be.
You also won't be expected to just live in your room with a communal dining room, and two communal living areas with sofa and tv, one of those (living room) is only available when I'm not using as my office (Monday - Friday 9-5) as I work from home.
The room comes furnished.
We have our own en suite in our bedroom on the third floor, so the bathroom on the first floor, with a bath and shower would only be shared between you and one other person, our lodger in the other room. There is also a utility room on the ground floor which has a third toilet and sink.
I work from home, and Josh is a carer, so can be away from home up to two nights per week. We're not really big out out party goers, so party animals, this isn't the house for you!
That said, we are a friendly, sociable outgoing couple with lots of interests between us including long walks with Foxy, cold dips in the local sea and waterfalls, gigs, skateboarding, cars and roller derby.
Biggest selling point for the house is probably the hot tub outside on the first floor roof terrace with views out over the Tyne River!! We also have a garden downstairs.
House has all the mod cons including:
- HOT TUB (Did I mention we have a hot tub?)
- Hidden utility room with washer, tumble dryer and dehumidifier for your delicates, with foldable wall mounted drying racks.
- Dishwasher, big American style fridge freezer including an ice machine.
- Toys for all you chefs out there: slow cooker, bread machine, stand mixer, baking tools, panini press, deep fat fryer.
- A cosy wood burning fire in the living room, perfect for the winter nights with a book and Foxy curled at your feet.
- We currently clean the communal areas (kitchen, utility room) taking out the bins etc on a rota basis which you'll be expected to partake in. You'll be expected to clean your own room yourself and there's a weekly rota for your bathroom.
If you want to see our other house rules in more detail you message me for the link.
We're a ten minute walk from the Tyne bar and Ouseburn, and everything that has to offer, and we're the last estate on the outskirts of Walker before you hit Tyne Bank Brewery. It's a lovely modern estate with street cleaners etc, and on street parking which never gets filled up so plenty of space. We're also 60 seconds away from Walker Riverside, a big green trail with views over the Tyne which is where we walk Foxy every day.
We initially say people can stay a month rather than committing to more straight away as this is our home and its important we get on. We've gotten on really well with all of our previous lodgers who have all stayed beyond their initial length.
