Description
Hi, I’m Amelia. My house is a peaceful little Victorian terrace in Erdington and I'm looking for two lovely people to share it with me. I'll only be around a couple of days/nights a week as I'll be spending most of the week elsewhere (though with the current Covid situation we'll have to figure out what's safe).
I’m a pretty warm, good-humoured and good-natured person and I’m looking for similar people. People who are respectful, relatively quiet and clean (it's a lovely peaceful and quiet home), who will treat the place as their home. It would be nice if we could share meals, films, walks etc sometimes when I am around. I don’t want to live in each other’s pockets but I don’t want to be strangers, either... it should be homely! I have a lovely dog called Suki who I might bring over sometimes if you like dogs!
The house is a 3-bed Victorian terrace in Erdington; a lovely, peaceful home with a garden (which of course you’re welcome to use - or help me out with!). It's a 10-minute drive to Sutton Park if you're like me and need a big green space! It’s also a 4-minute walk to Erdington train station which has a direct line to:
Birmingham New Street - 15 minutes (continuing to Redditch, Bromsgrove and Longbridge);
Five Ways - 18 minutes;
University (for the university and QE hospital) - 22 minutes; and
Sutton Coldfield - 15 minutes (for the beautiful Sutton Park, which I enjoy at weekends).
There are also numerous buses into Birmingham and to Sutton from nearby.
There’s a leisure centre, gym and yoga studio, library and co-op supermarket all within 5-10 minutes’ walk. Wylde Green is a 10-minute walk away, and there's a fab cafe for coffee/breakfast there (Window Box Cafe).
I have two rooms free: a large double for £450pcm; and a small double for £430pcm, inlusive of all bills and a fortnightly cleaner (we can increase this to weekly if we feel it's necessary). The rooms are furnished with windows overlooking the back garden. The kitchen, lounge and bathroom will be shared. The larger room also has a desk, so would be good for someone wanting to work from home (although you could also use the dining room for this and I can also remove the desk if you don't require it to give you more space).
I work four days a week from home, due to Covid, and it looks like this will continue. On my fifth working day I’m working on a personal writing project. In my spare time I love getting outdoors, with or without the dog, cooking, the arts - galleries, cinema, music, theatre - and travelling...the usual!
I think that’s enough info for now but If you’d like to know anything else, please just drop me a line.
Thanks :)
