Description
*Available January 1st 2025
*Maximum 3 months rental with possible extension
It’s the largest of two bedrooms, being at the front of the property and facing south west. It’s a residential street and the traffic is light.
The bed & mattress are both new (as of Feb 2023).
There is a wardrobe and a desk can be supplied if needed.
I’m a 53 year old male and have recently returned to Birmingham after 30 years in the south. Professionally speaking I’m creative, but these days I mix things up a bit, which sometimes means shift work. This means that I’ll sometimes be up and out of the house quite early. Often I don’t return until quite late into the evening. I’m quiet though so hopefully you won’t hear me, I haven't had any issues with people so far! I’m sociable and affable yet completely respectful towards other people’s privacy, hopefully you’re the same?
The house is in a well located part of Birmingham. It’s equal walking distance between Stirchley (great for food and bars) and Kings Heath (great for everything!). The Midlands Arts Centre is also within easy walking distance and can be reached via the River Rea path. If you enjoy green, open spaces, this is just the spot. You can sit next to the river via a private road (and parking space!) at the bottom of the garden. Beyond this there are woods and parks
If you need either the University or the QE hospital, the bus stop is at the end of my road and takes about 10-15 mins. Buses for the 20 minute journey into town are a two minute walk away.
It’s a traditional Victorian terrace with open plan lounge and a kitchen at the rear of the property. I’ve only been here a short while but have already renovated throughout. The kitchen & bathroom still need to be done but despite this, they are totally functional, just not to my taste. There is a washing machine in the kitchen and a separate shower unit in the bathroom. Outside is an easterly facing garden with an external room which could be used for storage (bicycle?). Beyond the garden is a private access road that runs alongside the River Rea, there are spaces to sit and watch the kingfishers, herons, ducks etc. It’s also great for BBQ’s (I have a fire pit) and the neighbours are all really nice. It’s not at all unusual when the weather is nice to see people playing live music, cooking pizzas, having BBQs etc.
The house is double glazed and bills are included. If you need to work from home, that’s fine but we may have to negotiate a modest surcharge for extra heating.
Ideally my preference would be a short term rental but I’m willing to consider other options. Best if we just have a chat!
Full time: £550 pcm
Monday-Friday: £450 pcm
Occasional guests: £35 per night
