Description
Hi! I have had this lovely flat for a year now, renting off a very kind and responsive private landlord. My current flatmate is moving out of Birmingham so I would like to find someone to replace them, while I would like to stay here at least another year.
Move in can be from 31st July but preferably later, with the latest being 30th September.
Professional females preferred - hybrid or in-person workers, no 100% WFH.
You will have the en-suite master room (I use the family bathroom in the corridor), with built-in wardrobes. All furniture belongs to me and the current flatmate, who is leaving everything behind when they go. So you can use the existing furniture or we can arrange to get rid of what you don't like or need.
We will share the kitchen and living room with TV, Apple TV and speaker, full size fridge and freezer, dishwasher, appliances, crockery etc. There is a combi washing machine-dryer, although I don't use the dryer function and air dry all clothes. The balcony is 5 floors up and is south-facing. There is a local shop just outside of the building and two small parks either side of the building. The closest bus stop is 3-4 mins walk and the closest train is 10 mins walk- New Street station is 15 mins walk.
I work in the city centre 9am-5pm on weekdays: 2-3 days a week where I walk into work, and working from home on the desk in the living room 2-3 days a week. You are welcome to use the desk and second monitor when I am in the office, or there is space in your bedroom for a desk.
Parking is available on the street right outside the flat with no permits, apart from no parking Mon-Fri 11am-12pm (to stop commuters parking all day). My car uses the designated parking spot in the underground car park as I don't use it during weekdays in the daytime. The communal bins are also underground and there's always space for general and recycling. If you have a car, you would either need to use it elsewhere during the day, or you can temporarily move into a spare space 11am-12pm- we only have 1 fob for the car park. If you don't have a car, very happy to give lifts for food shopping, drop offs at stations etc
To co-sign the lease you will need to have a tenant reference, employment reference, salary for affordibility, and/or adequate credit score, as my landlord will check all this before they agree to take you on. I don't know exactly what is required so we can discuss.
BILLS:
Council Tax Band B- £135
Water- £25
Wifi- £25
Electric (no gas)- up to £80 in Winter and up to £60 in Summer
TOTAL- £250 (£125 each)
TOTAL INC RENT EACH- £750
ABOUT ME
I moved to Birmingham a year ago for work (for a charity), and play in a local hockey team 2-3 times a week. I plan to go the gym 3 times a week as well but recently have been getting into running along the canal instead.
I don't eat meat so technically a pescatarian, but I'm not fussy about eating gelatine, cross-contamination with meat etc.
I have lived in a few different cities with various friends/strangers. My current flatmate was a friend before we lived together, so I would like to replicate our easy-going relationship. I found it easiest to keep on top of dishes every day and keeping the kitchen clean every night, but spend an hour or so every weekend cleaning the floor and other surfaces.
Before you sign on as a co-tenant, I would like to meet up several times, get to know each other, go on a trial night out eg to see if we get on :)
If you've made it to the bottom of this ridiculously long description and you're still interested, message me and let me know if you're new to Birmingham or how long you've been here, what industry you do for work, or any fun fact- so I know you're not a bot or a nutter xxx
