Large quiet double room in lovely house

I am looking for a housemate to rent my large spare double room, in a lovely, spacious Birmingham end-terrace, located in Cotteridge on a quiet road which backs onto Cotteridge Park and is a 15 minute walk to both Stirchley high street and Bournville amenities.

The location is really excellent, Cotteridge Park has lots going on, and Stirchley is regularly featured on lists of very cool places to live! I am a 7 minute walk to Kings Norton station which gets to you the University of Birmingham/QE Hospital within 7 minutes, or into Birmingham New Street within 15 minutes.

The room comes furnished with a double bed, brand new Emma hybrid mattress, wardrobe, mirror, armchair, rug and bookcase. Other items as pictured in the room can be left or removed as you prefer.

The whole house was renovated and modernised about 10 years ago to a good standard and I continue to make improvements. The shared spaces include a first floor bathroom, large modern and bright kitchen, downstairs dining and living rooms (with a log burner), downstairs loo, and really large sunny garden.

You’d be living with me (Susie – live in landlord), and my dog Hank. I work from home full time, but am often coming and going in evenings and weekends – I like to see friends a lot (mostly out of the house but do sometimes have people for dinner), go to the gym, go for walks and play in an orchestra. I like an evening chilling in front of the tv as much as I enjoy going out for drinks in Stirchley or town some weekends.

Hank is a 4 year old Labrador cross who is very chilled at home, and loves all people but also doesn’t feel the need to follow you around – he spends most of his time asleep on the sofa, and doesn’t come upstairs unless I’m home (and even then, only into my office).

I’m a friendly, respectful, tidy, clean individual and would ask that you are the same. I like my own company but also love socialising. I’d be looking for a young professional who’s much the same, where we can respect each other’s space and privacy but also have a drink or some food together sometimes if we like! I would prefer someone who isn’t entirely working from home like me.

Also open to considering Monday-Friday arrangements or similar, for a reduced rate.
