There is a new electric shower over the bath.
The room for rent has a double bed, new (Emma) mattress, and masses of storage with floor to ceiling wardrobes (two doubles including a corner wardrobe, and one single), as well as a desk and a dressing table (or use as additional desk space if needed) and blackout curtains. It can be rearranged if needed as there is scope to move the bed etc and I'm happy with things on the walls.
Rent is inclusive of all bills including broadband wi-fi, and Sky tv (inc Sky Sports and Cinema, and various other subscriptions such as Netflix, Paramount and Prime Video).
The flat is on the 7th floor (with lifts) of a very quiet, privately owned residential block that has a live-in caretaker. It has stunning views as it is in the heart of the affluent Edgbaston Conservation Area, on the south side of Hagley Road in the leafy highly desirable part near the Birmingham Botanical Gardens. The block itself is set in beautifully maintained grounds with a brook. The area it is in is very tranquil and green - fields to one side and other flats in their own grounds to the other. The private car parks and entrance area (secure entry with a fob) to the block are covered by CCTV for added security.
Ideally located just a few minutes walk from Harborne High St that has all the amenities you'd expect from this trendy area including bars, pubs, coffee shops, restaurants, takeaways, post office, banks, supermarkets (M&S Food, Waitrose and a Sainsbury's Local) and a yoga studio. It's a mile from the nearest part of the city centre (including a Morrisons supermarket) and closer still to Birmingham University (10 min walk), QE hospital and University train station (both around a 20 min walk).
Buses into the city centre are a 2 minute walk away and take just 15 - 20 mins in rush hour as there are bus lanes all the way in. Chad Square (that is 5 mins walk) has a number of shops including a good sized off-licence and convenience store and the White Swan country pub is even closer.
Smokers need to use one of the balconies (no smoking indoors at all please - the room has access to the main balcony that is in the photos, the other balcony is accessed through the living room). Pets are fine but need to be quiet so that other residents of the block are not disturbed.
Parking is available on the private grounds in a number of car parks.
I am an outgoing and sociable professional but considerate of space and privacy, and I like to keep the flat very clean and tidy. However, you would see very little of me as I work away during the week and am not usually back until around 6pm on Fridays having left by 7am on the Monday.
You have full use of crockery, cutlery pots and pans etc. Also provided are bedding and towels although I appreciate you may wish to use your own. Cleaning is provided although you may wish to clean your own room to maintain privacy.
Would suit a postgraduate student or professional seeking a peaceful and relaxing environment. I don’t smoke (and I am not vegetarian) but I am happy if you are different to me in those respects! Smokers have use of the balconies.
