Description
Available in January, for a vegetarian, a large, quiet, spacious, front bedroom in a peaceful three bedroom terrace house in Kings Heath, suitable for a mature student or professional person. We are looking for someone mature, trustworthy, responsible, friendly and easy going, who would enjoy sharing the house with us. and who is covid aware. (We would prefer to share with another female and would really welcome a vegetarian).
The room is furnished and quiet and gets the afternoon and evening sunshine. One of the other bedrooms is currently occupied. We share a sitting room, kitchen and bathroom. The kitchen is equipped with most essential things. There's a microwave, washing machine, blender etc.
We have unlimited broadband, TV, dvd, and gas central heating. There is a landline - calls have to be paid for. Otherwise the bills are all included in the rent (gas, electricity, council tax, water, TV licence, and unlimited broadband). We also have a pleasant garden with plenty of places to sit, or laze, in sun and shade. There's a colony of bees at the bottom of the garden, behind a fence.
Kings Heath is a good place to live. There are three parks within an easy walk, a busy High Street and also trendy little side streets with great cafes and restaurants and interesting independent shops. Local community activities are numerous.
Buses (50 and 35) from the High Street take around 20 minutes to the City Centre. The number 11 to Harborne and Handsworth, 27 to the QE, and 76 towards Stirchley and the University and to Solihull, are all 5 minutes walk away.
I am a retired therapist. I'm also a beekeeper and gardener. I have a large allotment which keeps me very busy and fit. I have been vegetarian for most of my life and vegan of some of it. One of the other rooms is occupied and
the last housemate has just moved to London for work, having spent 5 years here studying for her Masters and PhD. Ferdinand, the cat, also lives in the house. He is big, grey, clean and friendly. (So if you would like to live here you need to like cats!) I may go away from time to time and would like to make sure that there are people in the house who would be happy to love and care for him for a day or so. (Obviously his food would be provided). If I'm away for long periods he stays at a cattery.
If you feel that this situation would be of interest to you please get in touch, come and meet us, look at the house and discuss possibilities. Ring for a chat if you have any questions. (But absolutely non-smokers only, please). We can also speak on Skype if you are unable to come to Birmingham. (I found two great housemates through video chat).
