Description
Hello!
We’ve got an en-suite room available after Christmas in B13, on the Moseley/Balsall Heath border (a few minutes walk from the MAC/Cannon Hill Park, Moseley Park & Pool and the centre of Moseley, and an easy hop into the centre of Birmingham).
Free on-street parking
Secure bike storage
Large mature garden
Outdoor table-tennis
On the 50 bus route
Creation Climbing Centre: 2 mins walk
Old Print Works: 5 mins walk
Moseley Hive: 10 mins walk
Birmingham Women’s Hospital: 13/19 minutes (car/cycle)
Queen Elizabeth Hospital: 11/18 minutes (car/cycle
University of Birmingham: 8/12 minutes (car/cycle)
The house is on a quiet street with plenty of free parking and secure indoor space for bikes. The room coming available is on the top floor and has a private en-suite containing a shower, basin & WC. There is sufficient space for a seating/desk area in addition to the bed, if you need to work from home.
The downstairs of the house has the shared areas of the lounge, kitchen/dining area, and the garden (with table tennis table). Bills are included (water, gas/electricity, council tax, superfast fibre broadband).
Some information about us:
- We are a same-sex female couple in our 40s, with two small children; one other female housemate/lodger (early 30s)
- We moved onto dry land and to Birmingham after spending several years living on boats;
- We are (atheistic) members of a ‘non-religious’, Unitarian congregation;
-Between us our interests include entrepreneurship, medical ethics, canal boats, sport, gardening, cooking, reading, building community.
We’re looking for the right person to move in after Christmas. To date our longest lodger has stayed 3.5 years, and our shortest 3 months. We’re open minded about who moves in, save that we always look for someone who is emotionally intelligent and good at communicating.
If you like the sound of our home, please get in touch, telling us a bit about yourself, including the rhythm of your day/week.
To give you a bit more of a picture of what we’re like as housemates, our family life is busy and we both have quite demanding jobs, in which we largely work from home. We are also very involved (despite being atheists) with the running of a Unitarian church; this is a big part of our lives. We love a passing conversation or cup of tea in the kitchen and the occasional organised meal/film night after the kids are in bed, but we definitely aren't housemates who can be relied on for a social life (only because we have very little time to ourselves!) Your other housemate will be our lovely lodger who lives in the other room, who is in her early thirties.
Parking - there is pretty much always a spot nearby, and the street around the corner (our street is very short) always has spots.
Not suitable for smokers, or big drinkers.
If you think you might be interested, please drop us a line with a bit about you, and about what you are looking for. We’re happy to talk more, and to have a quick video call before a viewing.
