Description
ABOUT YOU
HI! We're looking for someone to join our sociable, busy, early-bird household. Preferably a woman, aged 30-50, vegetarian.
ABOUT THE ROOM
Bright, furnished double bedroom (4.3m x 1.8m)
Not large, but lots of storage
Can be a little noisy - it's a terraced house :(
ABOUT THE HOUSE
Colourful, characterful Victorian terraced house, renovated in 2019-2020
Light and spacious kitchen-diner with dishwasher, brand-new fridge-freezer, etc
Desk space for working from home/studying
Cosy living room with TV (Netflix, Prime, etc)
Upstairs bathroom with a massive shower
Downstairs cloakroom with extra loo (handy in the mornings)
Sunny south-facing back garden (an ongoing project!)
Storage space in the loft
ABOUT THE LOCATION
Right in the middle of awesome Stirchley!
Situated in a quiet cul-de-sac of historic Victorian cottages just off Stirchley high street (Pershore Rd)
Seven-minute walk to Bournville railway station (14 minutes by train to Birmingham New St, even quicker to Selly Oak and University stations) and close to numbers 11, 45 and 47 bus routes
Super-close to lots of Stirchley's indie businesses/bars/restaurants plus Aldi, Morrisons and Lidl supermarkets, library, community centre, various shops
Fantastic walking/running routes nearby like Bournville, River Rea path, Cotteridge Park and canals
Walkable to gorgeous chocolate-scented Bournville, plus Selly Park, Kings Heath and Cotteridge
Friendly neighbours (including chickens)
ABOUT US
Morwenna (42) and Laura (35) both work for charities. We both mostly work from home.
We both run and walk a lot, and are pretty creative with sewing, painting and cooking going on most weekends. Laura likes watching sport, Morwenna prefers Scandi noir and pop-science podcasts. We're both early birds; there's often a lot going on in the mornings. We have an annual Hallowe'en party and the occasional garden drinks, but it's not really a party house.
We're both vegetarian and would prefer to keep the kitchen as meat-free as possible, but won't begrudge you a meat feast pizza delivery :)
Morwenna owns the house so is technically the landlady, but the set-up is really more of a group of housemates (or even - cringe - a little family).
If you're looking for a big bedroom in an immaculate new-build then this is not for you. But if you want to live in a colourful, creative home with friendly people who like to get together in the evenings for some telly and a glass of wine, get in touch!
