House share with the owners in a very pleasant and quiet part of Coventry, not overlooked and backing on to woodland, with secure off-street parking.

My name is Rebecca, though I am known as Vicky, and for over 20 years I have been providing accommodation for professionals, contract workers, post-graduate students and academics sharing with me and my retired husband in our comfortable house in a green and quiet part of Coventry, backing on to woodland, 1 minutes' drive from Kenilworth Road and A45 and only two minutes' walk from the Memorial Park. Our rear garden is a bird-watcher’s delight. Please note that in addition to a lot of wildlife that visit our garden, we have two cats.

Unsurprisingly, it is 'A Nice Place to Stay'. It has been called Coventry's best kept secret; a recent doctoral graduate from Warwick University said that staying with us for two years was the best thing that could have happened to her.

The first-floor single bedroom is comfortably furnished with bureau desk and fitted cupboards. We have high speed Wi-Fi. The first-floor shower-room is shared, but we also have a ground floor shower and bathroom. The lounge, its 55inch TV and a variety of satellite stations, are available to share by arrangement: Sports and Film enthusiasts are especially welcome. We have a delightful garden in which to sit during fine weather. All bills are included.

Meals are not provided, but you have full use of our kitchen and laundry facilities and a wide range of crockery and kitchen utensils. We sometimes have a shared meal together on a weekday evening.

The rent is £125 Monday - Friday. Shorter periods can be arranged, and the rent adjusted accordingly. There is no fixed-term contract, You can stay for as long or as short as you like, we don’t mind, as long as you give reasonable notice of your departure. Many of our past guests have been working, lecturing, studying, or researching locally, but living in other parts of the UK - sometimes even in other countries - and have stayed with us on weekday nights, returning home at weekends. Some have stayed with us in this way for several years. We have a maximum of two lodgers at any one time.

We have ample secure off-street parking for motorists behind large, locked gates, and for non-drivers we are close to public transport. We can also provide the use of a bike. Warwick University is walkable in about 30 minutes and a regular bus service is also nearby. We are close to bus routes to Coventry Station, Coventry University, the city centre, and, further afield, to Warwick and Solihull. We are also within 10 minutes’ drive of JLR and four HS2 sites: those at Stoneleigh, Kenilworth, Coventry and Berkswell. By car we are about 10 minutes’ drive from Kenilworth, 15 minutes’ from Leamington Spa, Warwick and Birmingham Airport, 25 minutes from Stratford and 30 minutes from Gaydon.

We think you will like it; lots of people have. We have hosted guests from at least 40 countries. Above all it is quiet, and therefore an ideal location for post-graduates and academics seeking somewhere clean and comfortable to study, or for professionals or contract workers needing somewhere congenial to relax on weekday nights.
