2 single rooms in quiet and convenient location

If you are looking for weekday accommodation, then consider house-sharing with me and my retired husband in our comfortable house in a very pleasant and quiet part of Coventry, close to the A45, not overlooked and backing on to woodland.

For over 20 years I have been providing accommodation, mainly for professionals, post-graduate students and academics, and, more recently JLR staff and HS2 contract workers. Our house is only two minutes' walk from the delightful Memorial Park, which, with its 3 km circuit, is ideal for those who like to exercise. Our garden is a birdwatchers’ delight. In addition to visits from wildlife we have two ageing but friendly cats.

We have ample secure off-street parking, and for those who don’t drive, we are only 6 minutes’ walk from local bus stops. There are convenience stores at the end of our road as well as a gastro-pub, but you are welcome to accompany me on shopping expeditions to local supermarkets. Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Aldi and Costco are all just over 5 minutes’ drive away.

Although our preference is for someone who is looking for Monday – Friday accommodation we are flexible for those who sometimes have to work nights or weekends. We are particularly accustomed to guests who work long hours or who have to make an early start for work in the mornings and like a quiet environment to which to return at the end of the day.

We have a large single ground-floor bedroom available at a rent of £140pw inclusive. The room is immediately adjacent to a shared bathroom / shower room. The bedroom is furnished with a bureau desk, chest of drawers, wardrobe, a very comfy armchair and lined with bookshelves. It opens onto a patio in which you can sit to enjoy our delightful garden.

We also have a smaller first-floor bedroom available at a rent of £125pw inclusive, furnished with a fitted wardrobe, chest of drawers, a bureau desk and fitted bookshelves. The first-floor shower-room is shared, but that has never presented a practical problem because we also have a ground-floor bathroom with shower.

Bedding and towels are provided, unless you prefer to use your own. Meals are not provided, but you have full use of our kitchen and laundry facilities and a wide range of kitchen utensils. We often have a meal together during the week.

We have very fast and reliable broadband. The lounge, its 55inch TV and a variety of satellite stations, including Sports Channels, Netflix and Mubi, are available to share by arrangement.

For those who are studying or who are medical staff, we are within 5 minutes’ walk from direct bus routes to Warwick University, Coventry University, Coventry railway station and UHCW. The campus at Warwick University and the railway station are both about 30 minutes’ away on foot.

For those working locally, we are within 10 minutes’ drive of all the major business parks and JLR and HS2, less than 15 minutes’ drive from UHCW and Leamington Spa, and just over 30 minutes’ drive from Stratford and Gaydon.

Some of our previous guests have been working weekdays in or around Coventry, or lecturing part-time, with homes in other parts of the UK or overseas. Others have been studying full-time for PhD’s or undertaking post-graduate research at the local universities. We are very flexible in your length of stay; it can be as short or as long as you like. We don’t require you to sign a contract for a specific period. If you should find that we or the house or the location weren’t suitable for you, or your circumstances should change for any reason, then you could leave at short notice.

An easy-going, friendly, congenial and quiet atmosphere is what we provide. It is ideal for a combination of rest or study and low-key socialising; we’re here when you want us to be, and we’re largely invisible when you want to be quietly on your own.

It’s not a partying venue. Above all, it is quiet, and therefore an ideal location for academics. professionals and technicians requiring relaxed and congenial accommodation or somewhere quiet to study.
