Description
Sunny double room with use of a private bathroom in a lovely house right next to Adastra Park. The room has a TV, desk and broadband is included as well as all other bills.
The house is within 5-10 mins walk to the station (depending on your walking speed) and within easy access to the local shops.
You'll be sharing with one other female (homeowner), who is retired.
My daughter is moving to France in May, and I will be splitting my time between France and Hassocks, so will be in the house around 50% of the time (approximately).
If i'm in the UK, i'd like to have use of the living room and garden for myself, however, when i'm not here, you would benefit from having the house to yourself.
The kitchen is shared, and has a table for dining which you are welcome to use anytime.
The bedroom itself comes furnished with a very comfy superking size bed. It has a smart TV and good internet connection too. It has a good size built in closet for clothes/storage, and a comfy armchair in the window.
The house is 3 storey, with this room being on the top floor, so it benefits from feeling a bit more private and also very quiet, warm and cosy.
The bathroom is on the middle floor, and will pretty much be used by you only (as I have an en-suite in my bedroom).
Please note the bathroom has a bath with shower attachment, rather than a shower cubicle.
All mod cons with washing machine and dishwasher.
There is an off road parking space available for you in front of the house.
About me - i'm a friendly retired teacher in my 70's, looking for a somebody that's kind, relaxed, friendly and will respect the house. I'm fairly active and you can often find me out for walks, playing badminton and at the local pub quiz.
I'm open to age/gender, though I don't think it would be suitable for somebody under 30 who still enjoys the party lifestyle! It's a pretty quiet/chilled house, but I welcome good conversation and a friendly living style.
I have a cat, and would ideally like to find a lodger that would be willing to feed the cat while i'm out of the country. She's a very low maintenance cat - it would just require popping food and water in a bowl every couple of days. The cat spends most of it's time outdoors, and you barely notice it's here (as it's rather timid).
Hassocks is well-placed for accessing Brighton, Gatwick, the South Downs and London. You can walk to the South Downs from the house.
Hassocks has a handful of pubs and restaurants including an Indian and Chinese takeaway and a thriving coffee shop scene during the day. The house is within walking distance (across the fields) of The Bull at Ditchling that does great roasts!
There is room in the garden for the bike if you have one.
Initially id look to rent the room for 6-12 months, and am open to it being longer term if all well and good.
