Description
I am Bob. This is my house. I live here on my own and with two daughters visiting a few days per week. The house is largeish with about 1700 square feet plus a double garage. There is a good kitchen with double oven and dishwasher with adjoining dining room and separate utility with laundry. Large living room with good TV and sound system and a conservatory with back garden. Parking for two cars on the drive.
I have 4 hours of cleaning done most weeks. Gardener every fortnight.
I work from home in my study downstairs. My work is quite intense as I run a small industrial company. I cook from scratch every day.
Ideal sharer has their own home somewhere else in the UK and requires a weekday base in Crawley for work from whence they can come and go. So this person will already be paying council tax for themselves in their own right in their main residence. This is a lodger licence and will not be your main residence. The room is 12' 6" x 10' 7" and had additional built in wardrobes down one side for your stuff. It will be yours to come and go as you please. I would be expecting to see you during the week and some weekends when you require it. You will use the upstairs family bathroom. I use my own ensuite. The family bathroom has bath and shower. You can use my tea and coffee and milk from the fridge and use household cleaning items such as washup liquid and cloths and toilet roll etc which I will provide. But you must provide victuals for yourself in terms of food and drink and alcohol and toiletries and laundry washing powder etc.
We are a bit green and we recycle. We turn off lights when we are not in the room etc. We have solar panels and a battery and we try to use power at the cheaper times and when the panels are producing from the Sun and I top up the battery at the cheapest rates. The house has a good new gas boiler and we keep it at 19 degrees when we are there but turn off the radiators in rooms we are not using. You have a radiator control in your bedroom and if you feel the cold then turn it up. We are not stingy and would not want you to feel cold. But running the heating with the windows open is not a "thing" if you get what I mean. I has one lodger a while ago who would leave his hot water tap on and leave the house and go to work leaving the front door open.
It would be good if you were a foodie. Especially if you like a bit of wine and beer too. We are easy going and a progressive and tolerant household but it must be clear that we do not tolerate racists, bigots, immigrant haters, Trump-idiots, Brexiteers, Putin apologists, conspiracy theorists and religious fanatics of any type. We are a bunch of smarty pants Socratics and prefer enlightened and thoughtful rationalists, critical thinkers and gentle humanists. Those with drug and alcohol issues are very much not welcome here.
