Description

Firstly, I must highlight that we have a dog. A 14yr old 'rescue' Labrador. So if dogs are a no-no for you, that hopefully saves you time reading any further! Other than that, it's just me and my husband here (And some squirrels in the garden!).

The house is a beautiful detached Edwardian property over 3 floors with garden all around. The house is a 2-3 minute walk from the seafront near Splash Point swimming pool/leisure complex and the seafront ‘Arts Quarter’ and Coast Café. It is a slow 10 minute walk to the town centre.

The room is spacious with a 9ft high ceiling. Furniture wise, it has a French antique 5ft pine bed with new mattress. There is a double door pine wardrobe and two bedside cabinets, a chest of drawers, and a desk. There are three large windows, all overlooking the garden. The windows have made-to-measure thermal blackbout blinds so you can sleep well even in daylight hours (for any shift workers).

The bedroom has a fully tiled ensuite bathroom with a wide shower, basin and WC. It has Sky Fibre Max broadband, CAT cabling, and a TV aerial point.

There is a large kitchen with a range cooker and it opens out into the dining room. Here there are French doors opening onto a large decked area. The garden is beautifully quiet with lots of direct sunshine and the autumn produces lots of berries, figs and pears.

Next to the kitchen is the laundry room with a washing machine and airing/drying racks. There is also a tumble dryer.

We have a ’games room’ with a pool table and darts that is available as a leisure space as well as the shared lounge. We also have an infrared sauna, hot-tub and swimspa (the swimspa is one of those pools that you can set ‘waves’ in, so you can swim any distance you like at whatever pace you can manage). There are also stretch bars and a rubber surfaced area if you fancy yoga/pilates exercise outside.

As well as being close to the seafront; tennis courts and gyms are all within short walking distance. Windsurfing and other watersports are available on the beach and there is also an ‘open air’ gym on the seafront (free to use). The frequent 700 bus stop for the coastal route to Brighton is a 2 minute walk away, Worthing train station is a 15 min walk and Worthing hospital is 2-3 minute walk.

The house is big so manages different lifestyles easily. We have had a shift-working lodger before (ambulance crew) and due to the amount of space we did not disturb him and he did not disturb us. We work office hours Monday to Friday and both work from home so the house needs to be quiet then but we are happy to have someone that works other routines. We are looking to find a single person who works predominantly outside of the home, sorry, no couples.

We have a wonderful cleaner who comes one day every week and she will clean the ensuite in the bedroom as part of her routine. She has been cleaning for us for over two years now.

This is a non-smoking house (both cigarettes and vapes) and that includes the driveway and garden.

If after any viewing, if you would like to speak to our lodger who just left (Consultant at Worthing Hospital) he is happy to have a chat if you want to ask him anything.

As you can see, we have provided a lot of information to help people understand the set-up in the house and whether it may or may not suit them. If you do not have a profile on Spareroom that has a reasonable amount of information about you, please do provide information that tells us about you and your situation when making contact. Thank you.
