Description
I currently have a good sized room to rent out in my lovely, cosy home, which is just a ten minute walk from West Worthing train station. On street parking is free with no permit required. The price includes all bills, fast WiFi, cleaning products and even environmentally friendly loo roll!
The house has good central heating, a large, homely living room with a log burner, a big TV with Netflix, Prime, YouTube etc, a dining table and piano. The kitchen has a dishwasher and washing machine, and is well equipped with appliances and utensils. We are about to have a boiling water tap installed. There’s a downstairs loo, a bathroom with a shower and bath, and a shower room so you’ll never have to queue! At the back is a small garden with a summerhouse. All bedrooms are furnished and lockable.
As well as myself, there are currently two male and one female lodger. We are all in our late 20s-early 40s, are respectful, friendly people who value our personal space, and tend to keep to ourselves and so the house never feels crowded.
Myself and two of the other lodgers, who are friends of mine, are animal rights activists. Ideally we’d love another vegan to join us, but welcome anyone who is considerate and will be respectful of the property and others living in it.
I have a strict policy of not bringing non-vegan food (meat, fish, eggs, dairy, honey, gelatine) into the house and this must be upheld as part of the tenancy agreement. If you’re open to this but feel you might struggle with meal ideas I’d be more than happy to help. Eating plant based doesn’t mean missing out in any way!
Animal companions are very welcome but again I ask that you feed them plant based food in the house as it’s unethical to kill many animals to feed just one, especially when it’s completely unnecessary. Comprehensive research by Andrew Knights, amongst others, shows that both cats and dogs can thrive on a plant based diet.
I strive to ensure everyone feels happy, safe and comfortable here, and share below a testimonial from a current lodger:
“I feel extremely lucky to have Be as a landlord. Not only does he take his safeguarding responsibilities as a landlord very seriously, but he goes above and beyond to make us feel at home. Be considers all suggestions we make, even installing a water softener and filter when I raised the damaging effects of Worthing’s awfully hard, polluted water. This has done wonders for my clothes, hair and skin, and I no longer need to spend a fortune on Britta filters! I don’t ever feel conscious of living in someone else’s house because Be is so kind, humble and accommodating.”
If you have any questions at all please don’t hesitate to drop me a message or give me a call.
