Description
Hi!
Two rooms have recently come available in our lovely 4 bed, mid terraced house. Both of our previous flatmates moved home to be with their families during lockdown. As a result neither have been in the house since March, not even once. Our contract is up for renewal and understandably, they've both decided not to sign the new one (given neither has lived in the house for the last half year). So, we are looking for two new flatmates. :)
Both rooms are furnished with double beds, one is a tip floor loft style room and the other is on the mid floor. Both have nice big bright windows and the loft room especially has quite a bit of storage.
We live in a really nice area, we look across the street at green space and the canal path. It'll take 20-25 min from the house in the centre by public transport, walking would be around 30 min, and cycling would be about 15 min. To Leeds uni, headingley, etc,., itll be similar times. I cycle to leeds beckett headingley campus in less than 15 minutes. An uber into the centre would be less than a fiver! We are located less than a 10 minute walk from the Kirkstall Forge crossfit gym, and the Climbing Lab bouldering wall, as well as the Vue cinema, and loads of bars, shops, etc. located on the Kirkstall rd.
The property is clean and the kitchen is fabulous! There are four large furnished double bedrooms, and two bathrooms. The top floor has two loft rooms which share one bathroom, and the mid floor has two rooms which share their own bathroom, so you'll never have to share with more than one person!
The kitchen is gorgeous (in my opinion) spacious, with a massive range cooker (like 6 burners!). And there is a nice sized living room. As well, there is a very basic set up for weights in the basement, a makeshift squat rack and bench press with about 120 kg of weight which anyone is more than welcome to use. This house has exceptional access to green space, which was an absolute life saver during lock down to go for walks/runs, you can literally spend hours wandering about, and of course access to the canal path means its possible to go even further if desired. The house really is in a great spot especially for cyclists as the canal path goes straight into the centre, on a bike it takes about 10-15 min.
In the house currently is myself (Jase). I am from Canada and am currently doing a PhD at Leeds Beckett. My passions are rock climbing, mountaineering, trail running, travelling and in general, outdoor adventure sports. Jess is doing a MSc in sports sciences and in the past has also run some ultra marathons, currently she is working in the sporting event industry doing goal line reviews for football matches, etc. In general, we are both pretty outgoing, kind, and very flexible people.
Rent is 1050 pm (split for ways = 262.5). There would be a six month contract to sign and as well a damage deposit worth one month rent, so total first month outlay would be 525. Then bills are also split four ways generally come up to about 75 pm, sooo 262.5+75= 337.5 (roughly)....basically monthly cost in the year of living at this house has never exceeded 350 pm per person (this includes council tax). Value for money (in terms of space, location, access to parks, and quality of the house amenities) I think this house is an absolute steal!
I wont lie that this is some fabulous modern apartment. The furnishings as well as the house itself is a bit humble. But for the price it is exceptionally nice and comfortable. I pretty much live for travel and adventure, so having a clean, comfortable place to live (hopefully with friends) that isn't expensive is super important to save funds for travel, adventure, or some other passion you may have. If that sounds like a priority to you then maybe this house could work.
It would be great to hear from you, drop us a line and feel free to ask any questions!
Cheers!
