Description

1 large double bedroom available in a beautiful semi-detached house in Headingley. Shared living room, fully equipped kitchen, spare room/office and large garden. The rent will be £386 per month + bills, with a contract running until May 2026 (open for extension).
I (Ali) have been living in the house for 2 years, and Hannah has just moved in. One housemate is moving out so we are looking for someone to move in, who wants to make this a home and who plans to live here longer term. This is a quiet and peaceful house for the girlies and the gays :))

About the house:
The house is located at the border between Hyde Park and Headingley. It is semi-detached and based in a quiet neighbourhood. The house has a small front garden and a driveway leading to a big garden at the back of the house. On the ground floor, there is the shared living room in the front, the kitchen and one of the three bedrooms. Upstairs are the two other bedrooms, bathroom and separate toilet, and a spare room which is currently used as office/storage room.

Available bedroom:
Comes furnished. Located downstairs in the back of the house. It has large windows that bring in lots of natural light, especially in the morning.

The bathroom upstairs has a bath with overhead shower, and a basin with cupboard and mirrors. The smaller spare room has shelving and a large cupboard used for storage. The kitchen has 2 fridges and freezer space, washing machine, and a cooker/oven. The garden comes with a shed, which has enough space to store things like a bike or 2 etc.

About us:
I've (Ali) enjoyed living in the house for the last 2 years and would like to continue living in here with new housemates as it's a super cosy and homely space. I work with a mental health charity, and am returning to study aromatherapy. I have an interest and passion for wellbeing, holistic therapies and activities. Some of my favourite things to do, and ways I unwind and recharge are: singing, playing piano and guitar, song writing, pole dancing, bouldering, pilates, and going for lush walks in woodlands.

I (Hannah) work in fundraising for a mental health charity. I work hybrid, usually three days at home (from my bedroom) and two days in the office. I'm a creative person - I run an art club, I like trying out different crafts, singing in my choir, watching films, going to the gym, going for walks etc.

We would love to find someone who is friendly and considerate, interested in each others lives but who also respects personal space. It is important that everyone is feeling safe in the house and that there is open communication. One of us has some health conditions that cause chemical sensitivities and so we avoid having fragranced candles/room sprays/strong laundry detergents/body products as these cause migraines and respiratory symptoms. We would need for new housemates to respect this.
We would love for our new housemate to want to hang out occasionally (film nights, crafty groups, open mics etc).

The rent is £386 per month without bills. Bills are paid separately, which come to around £140-150, per person, per month. Council tax is band C. Unfortunately, our landlord doesn't allow pets. A new tenancy start date would be 13th November, with all housemates signing one month before. The room is available from the end of September but there could be some flexibility to move in before then.

If you made it this far and are interested then please send a message showing interest and telling us a little about who you are. We're looking to meet people in person to show the house to and to get to know each other :)
