Furnished single with desk & storage close to town

A great fit for single lodgers needing study or work space, storage space, a friendly house, and easy access to town centre transport links and amenities. We're open to shorter-term or longer-term lodgers (up to 1 year).

THE ROOM
This is a single room for a lodger in Birkby. It comes fully furnished with lots of storage including a large IKEA wardrobe and further under stairs hanging and storage space. The room also has a desk, a good office chair, a bookcase, and a standing lamp.

THE HOUSE
Our house is a 1900s terrace. You'll have access to a shared kitchen/diner (with washer and dryer) and shared living room (no TV). You will have primary use of the main bathroom as we have an ensuite W/C in the attic, but it remains a shared bathroom. We also have some additional storage space in the cellar if required. We're located a 20-minute walk from the train station and town centre, with an ALDI and gym within 15 minutes walk, and Huddersfield's main park 10 minutes walk away. We're on a quiet road with quiet neighbours. There is plenty of on-street, free parking - but it's very possible to live here without a car.

THE HOUSEHOLD
We're a married couple in our mid-twenties - Phil works for the University and Hannah is studying for an MA. We have more space than we currently need and would be happy to take on a lodger if we find the right fit. Hannah studies from home three days per week, and Phil is out 5 days a week. On evenings and weekends, we are actively involved with our local church and also enjoy hosting people for meals. You'll also find us relaxing by reading, going for walks or watching iPlayer. We like learning about language and culture too, so are very open to prospective lodgers who are new to the UK.

LODGING WITH US
We're most interested in finding someone who will be a good fit for our home and household - whether for 3 months or a full year. We will set expectations and sign a lodger agreement with an initial trial period of one month, to make sure it works for you and for us. The price indicated includes bills, subject to usage review.
