Description

Hello 😊! We are Molly and Becky and we are looking for a new housemate for our home on Kirkstall Avenue, as our housemate is moving out to live with his partner. Becky is 30, spends her time learning about permaculture and growing veg, and is into yoga, camping, and general being outdoors. Molly is 31, is working on a never ending PhD and in the meantime keeping busy with growing, cooking and eating vegetables, playing football, enjoying beers or exploring on 2 legs or 2 wheels! We have a shared passion for butter. We like to enjoy some communalness in the house. This doesn’t mean anything in particular, but just a sense of making time for each other and the house, could be cooking or eating together, watching a film, chatting, or whatever really. We’re looking for someone who would be interested in this kind of houseshare, and most importantly that we get on with and can have a laugh with.

The house has three bedrooms (one large first floor bedroom, and two smaller (but not small!) attic rooms), with one spare room/office. There is a large kitchen and living room, so plenty of space, and also a big cellar, where we keep our bikes. The cellar has access to a little back yard which catches the morning sun. We’re right beside the canal, and close to the Kirkstall Bridge pub. There are good bus connections to town, a 20 minutes walk to the Headingley station and space in front of the house to park a car. We also have an allotment in Armley park (about 15 mins walk) which we would be very happy for someone who was keen to get involved in that.

The house is rented through a private landlord who is easy to communicate with and quick to fix things. The whole house rent is £900 a month, which we split as £350 for the biggest room, and £275 for the two smaller ones - the biggest room is available, which is on the first floor. There is some furniture already here (bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers), but it is flexible if you want to bring your own things too. Bills are working out currently at around £70 per month. This doesn’t include council tax (band B), and we will need to work out this depending on whether the new housemate is a student or not.

The room is available from mid-Sept but we can be flexible.

Please drop us a message if you think this could be a good fit for you, with some details about yourself and what you’re looking for. We’re happy to answer any questions, or send more photos of anything in particular. And if it feels like it might work then we can organise for you to come over :)
