Description

4 rooms have become available in our shared house. Below is a bit more info about the house and what we can offer:

We can offer 3-12 months tenancy, ideally starting July, possibly August
We often have guests round for meals, films and chats; we’re a very sociable house but not a party house …
Current housemates are both queer women in our 30’s, happy to live with either older or younger folks, so vibes are somewhere between student house and retirement home…
We are clean and tidy (not totally immaculate) and want to live with people who will share responsibility for keeping the house clean.
We have a dinner rota to cook for each other each night and buy food together - this is the current default, but we can chat about it if that wouldn’t work for you. All diets welcome, we eat meat in the house but shared meals tend to be veggie, but something we can discuss.
No pets (we can chat about pets that would stay in your room)
It’s fine to pay with housing benefit
There is no step free access to the house. You can access one bedroom and the kitchen via one step into the house, but toilets and showers are either up or down a flight of stairs.
Two bathrooms between 6-7 people, spacious kitchen/diner, living room, 6 bedrooms and 1.5 spare rooms (one is very tiny), back garden and small front yard. There’s a garage for storing bikes, and we have a dishwasher, washing machine and tumble drier.
All rooms come with basic furnishings, see photos and descriptions for more info.
The house is generally in good condition, not damp. Friendly neighbours, close to buses into Leeds. We’re in LS8, on the edge of Chapeltown/Harehills/Chapel Allerton.
We’re planning to stay as a household of women, nonbinary and trans folks.
Rent (incl council tax) is £348/month, payable at the start of the month. All bills (water, electric/gas, wifi, food) are £185-£200/month. This would decrease if we decide to not share as much food.
We don’t require a deposit or reference.

The house is a housing co-operative, meaning that it’s collectively owned by a company made up of its members, rather than a private landlord. Four of our members are due to move out soon, and so the remaining two members will be taking some time to consider the future direction of the co-op, which is why we’re looking for more temporary residents. You would not be involved in the admin of running the co-op or in planning its future, although we’re happy to chat to you about this if you’re interested.

To express interest, please write two or three sentences about yourself, when you would want to move in, how long you want to move in for, any questions you’d want answered or things you’d want more info on. We’ll get back to you, and arrange a phone call or visit to the house if that feels right. We’re hoping to meet people in late May, and confirm by 1st June.

Look forward to hearing from you!
