I'm letting out a room in my recently renovated 2 bed characterful terrace on Swillington Common. The location is close to Thorpe Park/The Springs retail park and Garforth, with a supermarket and multiple gyms close by as well as a cinema, restaurants and other shops.
The room is spacious and bright, fully furnished with a small (4ft) double bed with an Emma Sleep mattress, desk (perfect for work/study), wardrobe and mirror.
The house features a south-facing garden with a sunny patio, if you're into gardening, you're more than welcome to get involved, and there's also the Roots allotment project nearby in Garforth. There's lots of wildlife, and you can sometimes spot deer in the surrounding fields! 🦌
All bills are included and the property has full fibre internet and a TV license.
I'm vegan and it would be nice to share with someone who is also vegan or vegetarian, but it's not essential (you can cook what food you like). Please no smoking. I can consider animals on a case by case basis.
The house is well placed for commuting, with regular busses a 2 minute walk away (163, 164, 165, 19, 19a, 9) serving Leeds, Headingly, Garforth, Cross Gates, Selby, Castleford etc. The M1 motorway is also close by.
It has a (tight) reserved parking spot at the back you are welcome to use (I don't drive), and there is non-reserved space at the front and generally close by.
I'm studying full time at York (Archaeology) but also work some evenings, so sometimes I'm home quite a bit but I'm also often out of the house all day until late.
The house could be suitable for someone else who is studying, and has a direct bus service to Headingly (19, 19a), or someone who is working. Working from home regularly is welcome but would need a top-up due to increased utility use.
Note there is some background noise due to the proximity to Selby road.
