A bright double bedroom in a spacious house on the Bentleys in central Meanwood. Another separate room, equally-sized and bright, also just for you (perhaps your office or craft space). Communal sitting room, kitchen and bathroom. Sharing with one other professional female (Me!).
I'm looking for someone who will enjoy making this house their home, too. Four phrases to describe it are:
1) home and sanctuary
2) clean and tidy
3) spacious, inside and out
4) friendly, trustworthy, considerate and honourable
The house faces east-to-west so every room gets sunshine. Your bedroom gets the sunrise and morning sun; your second room gets the afternoon sun and sunset. They have recently been redecorated. There is a sitting room, kitchen, bathroom with shower, two bedrooms and two office spaces (one for each of us) and a basement for the washing machine and storage.
There are sunny/shady front and back gardens, each with a different vibe and plenty of spots to sit and relax.
The house is furnished. Your two rooms were chosen by the original lead-tenant as the best rooms, which were hers (soon to be yours). In your bedroom are the usual bed, wardrobe and drawers and a Kallax unit of 3x4 squares (I think a rearrangement of the furniture would make nicer use of the space). In your office there is a large corner desk & office drawers, a double futon/sofa bed and cupboard (hidden behind a corner, out of view in the photo).
The road is a sweet cobbled street with friendly neighbours. We're just around the corner from nice cafes, restaurants and bars, Waitrose and Aldi.
This is a private letting so no agency or agency fees. The rent is £525. Bills come to about £170 (each) per month on average over the year, with conservative use. Chores and cleaning get shared equally.
As for me: having been in the corporate world for most of my career and then in Superyachting for a few years, I’m now fully back on land. I’m working towards a diploma in massage.
I enjoy living in a homely, relaxed space so this past year I have made this house my project, constructing things and overhauling both of the gardens. I’ve always got projects in the pipeline for my wood workshop, too. Finally, ‘project house’ is complete and it’s just waiting for my new flatmate and I to make it our home. The house is kept very clean at all times and we have a weekly cleaning rota in place, so please only reply if you are likeminded.
I’ve been enjoying discovering Leeds this past year: mostly its forests and countryside, often with dogs I borrow. Any opportunity to be outside! I look forward to getting to know Leeds (and surrounds) as a city now, too. During long winter evenings I usually end up making stuff or painting and watching something with a glass of wine.
Most of my socialising tends to be with great friendships, meaningful conversation, at places with good, coffee, food and wine; walking; and recently collecting plants. The neighbours are lovely, too and we sometimes gather in the garden.
As a flatmate: cleanliness, respect, teamwork, good communication, kindness, consideration, trustworthiness and dependability are really important to me.
